Should be the Burstbuckers that come in the Custom Shop/JB Les Pauls.  Joe keeps the pickups stock in most of his guitars.

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

About the burstbuckers #2 and #3, how close does it sounds to SD 57 pickups??

I have a sdandard with those ones, and i saw that #2 that names hot 57, am i wrong??

Is it a similar sounds??

Thanks.

i've found burstbuckers can vary from one to another.  doesn't matter if it's a II or III.  duncan builds good stuff, but i've found some variances in those too.  i've had several humbuckers made by kevin smth of smits pickups in murfreesboro tenn.  he does great work & really nails the tone.  read his reviews on harmony central.  i've been very pleased with his work.  he's a player & serious about tone.  i have 4 from him for several lp's.  brought alot of color out of those lp's.  i had tried burstbuckers, a 57 & 57+ gibson, & a duncan jb.  smits wins cool cool cool

I'm ordering some Charlie 5's for my strat. I was recommended to smits handwounds from another player who says he is "the guy" too. I was planning on buying a humbucker set for my Explorer (that presently has EMG's), but I just got a killer deal on some Texas BBQ pickups from Rio Grande pickups.
