Topic: Joe's new double neck

I don't have any pictures, and it's not on the MusicMan site, but Joe premiered a new double neck last night at the Coach House. It looked like a custom job, the top neck was a 12 string (played on a SICK version of Ball Peen Hammer, capo 3) with what I'm pretty sure was two humbuckers, then the bottom neck was a six string with 3 humbuckers. From what I heard the guitar was brand new, just bought yesterday, or sometime close.

Can you shed some light on this beast Joe?

Sounds cool! I've heard "Ball Peen Hammer" on 6 and 12 string and I prefer the 12 string sound. Would be great to hear it electric.

I have a gut feeling that Joe has something special planned with this guitar.

Joe changed the melody played on guitar for Ball Peen, it's really really cool. It sounds Indian.

That's ONE of Joe's double necks. The one I'm referring to was a 12 and 6 string smile

Yea man, that new section of Ball Peen Hammer was done during the sound check on the 10th; Joe just came up with that & then had the band rehearse the new section a few times and then he played it that night!  Very cool Indian or maybe Greek flavor since thats where BlackRock was recorded!
On Wednesdays sound check the band asked if they were going to do the new section again and Joe said "No, lests save that for Europe".  So only those on the Tuesday show got to hear it- it was very cool.
The 12/6 doubleneck was developed for Joe by the Ernie Ball/MusicMan Co. in order for him to replace his acoustic 12string on Ball Peen hammer. It does have 2 humbuckers on the 12 string and three HB on the 6 string.
BTW, Sterling Ball was playing with joe during sound check on Wed- That guy has some chops!!!! He was playing the 12/6 double and also some of the 2 new guitars that Joe played that night- the Albert Lee "Big Poppa" (Sterlings personal Guitar) and the GoldTop "Reflex" 2 HB with a 5 way switch and a series/parallel switch.

Not the Best Shots, but i was at the Coach house 2nd Night (11/11/09) but i was sitting a bit far to get good pictures, and lighting in the hall was a bit dark, and getting a shot with flash or with out flash wasn't the best, but this is the guitar in question:

I know the shots arnt the best, but that was all i was able to get from my seating area, and in the 2nd blurry picture you can see that 6string gutiar had 3 single coils, they looked like tele neck pickups or possible lipstick style picups i coudnt tell from far away, but that 12 string gutiar sounded like an acoustic 12 string when joe played it.

its all a matter of principle...

He only used it on Ball Peen Hammer at the CH shows.
