If you are handy with a few tools, build one.  For less than $100 you can have a custom pedalboard that fits your specific needs.  I have my frame made of oak with plywood as the top.  You can use regular cheap black carpet from Home Depot for the top (velcro REALLY clings to that stuff).  So a couple pieces of wood for the frame, sheet of plywood, polyurethane to seal the wood, then glue and carpet...voila custom pedalboard.  I added some handles too to help lift the beast.  My father and I built some for our rigs with his being even nicer.  He built a bracket underneath the board to hold his Pedal Power II to free up space on top.  Point is, I will probably NEVER waste money on a high dollar pedalboard again because building your own is fun, durable, and cost effective.  Good luck!

I did pretty much the same. First I found a roadcase that was originally used for a mixing board that was cheap. I then made my pedalboard to fit within the roadcase. Some good plywood, brass screws and a good piece of carpet remnant. Plenty of room for more pedals than anyone needs. Power strip and pedal power all fits nicely underneath. I've had the same board for years.

After Shopping and shoppping, compare price,  thinkin about space I need on the board, I finally buy the GATOR GPT-PRO. Not expensive, 30"x16" dimension, pretty good! After buying a power supply, total price will always be under a SK-B with all plug. The GPT-PRO have a little bit more of pedal area. I'll recommand !! See the link on top.
And thanks again for your suggestion.

NYC, something else to consider. I bought one about two years ago and have been more than happy.  Its very convenient the bottom half of the case is the board, so for playing shows you just set it down and take the lid off. Customizable too.

Main downside is there is no kind of power supply with it, so basically you have to factor in an extra 100 dollars to the cost, unless you already have a power supply.

I remembered this thread, so I decided to order a board fron NYC Pedalboards. The board is constructed very well and will last for years I'M sure, it took almost a month to receive from the time that I placed the order to my door. I would buy again.

Re: Shopping for Pedalboard

I made mine out of an old wine box... Wah, 69' Fuzz, OCD and space for delay. Cost me the price of velcro and 2 latches for the box its self.. works a treat - Take the lid off put pedals on the lid cable up > take cables out put pedals in box put lid on smile If I could be really bothered I'd put a handle on it too....

Re: Shopping for Pedalboard

Second the NYC Pedalboards --- nice bang for the buck board -- need to purchase a power supply, if you add a tier-shelf, a voodoo labs pedalpower will fit nicely underneath.

Reasonably priced too.....

Re: Shopping for Pedalboard

I could not believe the privce being charged off the shelf pedal boards. So I made one cost around £30 (plus pedals) and it is better than anything you can buy. It us used on tour too, will post a pic when I can.
