Re: Buddy Whitt, Aynsley, Oli, Siegal, JST, Gwyn Ashton, Yardbirds - £20!!

Hey, it's Amstelhammer, hic, checking in with a question. big_smile

Does anyone know how/if two old folks could come by tickets?

We're now like, seriously considering the possibilities, even though it's madness considering our musical agenda that week.

Still, such an opportunity, eh? Hic.

If you've booked into the Travelodge I've noticed that you can only check-in after 15:00 unless you want to pay a £10 supplement. Unfortunately, the doors at the Assembly also open at 15:00.

I've just rung the Assembly and they reckon the music won't start until "about" 16:00. They say it's "probably" all standing or standing with limited seating. So you won't be able to check-in after 15:00 at the Travelodge AND get in early if that was your plan. The Assembly ticket says no passouts so you can't go off and check-in during an interval either.

I booked a 3 bed room at the Travelodge, but one can't make it, so anyone interested???? - only £10!!!!

I'm starting to make my plans for Leamington as I'm off to Amsterdam for Gov't Mule next week and only have one day's turnaround before I set off again for the Blues Assembly.

A quick look at the facilities at the Assembly

http://www.leamingtonassembly.com/aboutvenue.aspx

shows a number of bars but no catering as far as I can tell.

Is this right? There's no passouts so what are people's plans for eating? It's a long time between 3pm and the final encore.

Maybe "Tammy Wynette's pink gypsy caravan" will be running a barbecue? lol

Re: Buddy Whitt, Aynsley, Oli, Siegal, JST, Gwyn Ashton, Yardbirds - £20!!

Maybe Tripsy will be serving tea and scones between bands??? - I've heard its her speciality!!! lol

Re: Buddy Whitt, Aynsley, Oli, Siegal, JST, Gwyn Ashton, Yardbirds - £20!!

Errr..... I don't think so Eldo roll lol

I've just been looking at their website too and noticed that there is no catering......maybe we could all hit the local curry house when they chuck us out!

Also I rang to ask about checking in earlier than 3pm and was told.....that's fine....you can check in after 12 noon .....for an extra tenner! .....Errrr....I don't think so.
But you can check in by phone after 3pm and then just pick up your key from the desk when you get there after the show.

Tripsy smile

George, when do you and Cathy get to the UK next weekend, and how will you get to Leamington? smile

Thought it best to reply here rather than in the birthday topic, Duncan.

We're being picked up from Brum airport by Curryman, who will also deliver us to the venue. big_smile Still have to sort a room, though. The Travelodge is full.

Come on, they can't have a show that lasts, what, 6-8 hours and have no food available?? AND not let people out? No way. Can someone maybe phone the venue and clear this up?

Eldo (Simon)'s friend is no longer coming, so there is one spare bed at the Travelodge, I guess it's probably a single though, anyone else have a spare place?

I assume there must be some kind of passout or will the smokers have to do with out. Maybe we'll have to call pizzas to the venue! big_smile
I have a contact for the venue, i could email them on Monday (it's on my work email)
By the way I retitled the thread smile
