But the JVM has 2 Master volumes and as i said kills at low volumes too. I just can write it again: I have never had a nearly as good tone as i have now at any volume. The thing is if you buy yourself a Line 6 spider or what- soever lower quality amp you will sooner or later look after something better. So why not buy it in the first place and save the 600-1000USD. And i can guarantee you won`t need pedals with the JVM. Endless options with regard to what tone you want with a superb clean channel. The JVM is a steal and if you get the 205 combo version you are mobile and can use it for playing at home or a medium size venue and i would guess you will not think of getting another amp in a long while- that amp is extremely versatile.
So thats what i would do. But as someone stated above- nothing is better than to actually try out some amps yourself.

Thanks for your advice but the JVM 205 combo is again 50 watt. And that's really to loud for me. I had a JCM 900 50 Watt combo that i sold because of that smile
Also i heard the 205 misses some nice sounds the 410h has ...

You are absolutely right with regard to the JCM 900. Tried that and didn`t like it for my purposes either. WAY too loud when you get the good tones. Wattage doesn`t mean anything if you ask me. I played 15 Watt amps which had to be cranked A LOT MORE than the amps i own now to sound good. I find the JVM to produce really fine tones at very low levels meaning speach volume- and i honestly don`t exaggerate here. I don`t have to convince anybody here. So you have to check it out for yourself. But in the case of the JVM i guarantee you that Wattage doesn`t mean anything else than that you have the option to really turn the amp loud if you have to. I would bet that for your purposes and style of music you won`t get a better or even equivalent tone at lower volumes with any of the above mentioned low-wattage-amps.
I haven`t played the 205 combo but i mainly play on channels 1 and (3)4 which offer 6 switchable soundoptions. So i would guess that the 205c could do it for me. I myself are planning to sell my Peavey JSX to get the 205 combo. If i were you i would give it a try. Should be easy to find one in a local musicstore. Would be interested in what you think of it.

Good luck with your amp search. smile

Re: amp recommendations

If it's not too late, check out the Industrial Amps Overdrive 15.  A sick, sick handwired amp used by bedroom/apartment players.  I think they were selling for $1,400-ish at the NY/NJ Amp Show this year.  Great sound, and a big sound for a little amp!
