Topic: Aynsley Lister

First time I ever heard Aynsley was at Dingwalls in err........May. Like a few of us I guess.
I had quite a few pints of Guinness and thoroughly enjoyed the night.

I bought Equilibrium on the night and have played it silly in between Joe. The guitar solo on What's It All About gives me the good old neck hair thing.

I have since bought Upside Down and All or Nothing.
Great stuff.

I'm going to see him again at Poulton - a small venue and am really looking forward to it.

Just thought it worth bringing the AL name up again on here.

I'm going to check out the AL forum as well.
I noticed Duncan and Martin on there.

Hi Ges,

By all means visit Aynsley's forum and hopefully you'll become a member.  There's never too many people around the campfire.  Aynsley is one of the U.K.'s diamonds - exceptional guitarist, great singer/songwriter and a great performer.

He is, and despite the mention of so many great blues based guitar players coming out of the UK at the moment, I personally feel Aynsley is the one most capable of commerical success. A year and a half ago Aynsley's forum was a desert with barely a post a day, now it is thriving with plenty of news and reviews -and a street team currently being set up. The forum is also great for discussion on the other British young guns and primarily touring US artists with a good European presence and many new artists suggestions - http://www.aynsleylister.co.uk/forums/
By the way Aynsley is on Paul Jones show in session next week

Re: Aynsley Lister

What a good idea to put Aynsley's name up again Ges!

Saw him live for the first time about three weeks ago in Einhoven. (Duncan sent me:)
Shivers down my spine. And did you notice that bass player? Ain't she great?
Since then i'm spreading the word about him where ever i can.
Hope he'll be back in Holland next year.

Hi Ges

Good to hear you're following up on Mr Lister.
Would be good to have you on board his forum too!
I'm with Tripsy on "Everything I Need" - great album.

Aynsley has plenty of live dates in the Uk from now through to mid December.  http://www.aynsleylister.co.uk/gigs/
If anyone reading this forum is UK based and has not seen Aynsley, do yourselves a favour and check out one of his gigs. You won't be dissappointed.

Re: Aynsley Lister

Roll up, roll up.....Cathy and I also saw Aynsley for the first time at Dingwalls and we were just as impressed as anyone with a working pair of ears! big_smile Both of our signed copies of Equilibrium have had plenty of play ever since and Aynsley is one of the three main reasons we're making the effort to travel to Leamington Spa for 24 hours. cool

And that bass player just somehow magnetically attracts cameras. tongue

See you both there !!

One thing I remember about the bass player (apart from the obvious - I'm much too polite to comment here. Let's just say I'm not gay, blind or stupid as Geoff commented earlier wink ) from the Dingwalls gig is how much she smiled. Seemed to be really enjoying the gig. Like Bogie always does.

I loved that.  cool

....and as Geoff also pointed out, she was brilliant with that bass.

If he hasn't seen Ian he's in for a freakin' treat.  Such an original artist and a top three U.K. musician.

You're guessin' right, Duncan. But us old folks are always open to new music and I think we actually want to see the entire line-up of this amazing day.

Looking forward to seein' all y'all there! Should we wear our RAH badges? tongue

Hey folks,
Just want to tell you that Rob Bancroft (Varmint) is featuring Equilibrium on his Rock 'n' Blues Circus tomorrow at 6pm. He'll be playing at least three or four tracks from the album amongst a whole host of great stuff.
Feel free to email the show from the web site with your comments, feedback or abuse! lol I guarantee you'll get a mention.

Had to edit for poor typing !! See. Still tired.
