Topic: Fender cyber twin, what do you think?

This sounds like a cool idea, does it work out in reality? Anyone tried it and feel like sharing their thoughts?

Re: Fender cyber twin, what do you think?

I played one for about an hour doing some research and I really liked it. Its a tweekers dream and if your into modeling amps its really cool. I think it sound much better than the line 6 stuff and I acctually liked it more than the Supersonic. But thats not hard I am not a fan of the supersonic. I toyed with the idea of getting a Cyber-Champ after I played it but that has long passed.

Steve Winwood uses one on the DVD Crossroads 2 and The show at the Madison Square garden with Eric Clapton.  He sounded way more versitile then Clapton when he played guitar.

My buddy got one when they first came out to go with '96 SRV Strat. He likes it a lot, but he does not consider himself a amplifier connoisseur either.

Re: Fender cyber twin, what do you think?

They sound great. Versatile, too.

For home and occasional use? Perfect.

For regular gigging? Maybe, maybe not......

All the motorized knobs, and the stored settings are incredible. Unless you get some weird power surge or drop out. Then, everything will have to be re-set.
More features = more to break down.

So, you gotta decide between versatility and reliability.

Now, a Sansamp in the gigbag could be a fine "In a pinch, "Amp":. They work fine for a backup, if needed.
So, the reliability issue may not be a factor.

Just some stuff to chew on.

    Good Amps, though.

I like how the knobs turn themselves to the settings saved on the amp.  It makes for really easy way to dial in your sound you want for certian songs without taking 100 amps on the road with you.

Eh, I wasn't that big a fan of his tone.

Re: Fender cyber twin, what do you think?

it was true to the original.  it wasnt SRV, Clapton, or anyone else.  it was Winwood and his playing ade the song, not the tone.

Re: Fender cyber twin, what do you think?

I loved his playing. His tone was just okay, in my humble opinion.

i've heard better too, but for a modeling amp it alright.

Re: Fender cyber twin, what do you think?

I've been interested in one since I first heard what Matt Joiner "The Rattlers" can do with one. He uses his live. He puts out some killer tones and does some fine JB covers also.
