I can attest to the cold in Colorado tonight. I feel sorry for the players and fans!

Hate to say it but it might be the Yanks

Based on Shred's post, it looks like the Angels have twice the chance of anyone else!
I'm curious to see what happens if they have to face themselves in the World Series, lol.

Shred, you must be tired...you've got the Angels playing in both leagues. You got something against the Dodgers???

My picks: Yanks vs. Dodgers
Winner: Dodgers!

Note: Have the Cubs and White Sox been eliminated yet?

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

I'm with Bill on this one. I'm still favoring Torre's return to NY; predicted it before the playoffs started. I'd love to see him go back and beat the Yanks, although I'm not sure anyone will.

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

Not many baseball fans on the forum anymore sad ....that's ok though, cuz I still got the fever.....I'm going witn the Los Angeles Dodgers ( thanks Bill  smile ) against the New York Yankees...I really want to see those bullpens go at it in the late innings ....great game in Colorado tonight, gotta feel for the Rocks, they had one hell of a run

New York in 7 epic games that wont be forgotten when it's all done with.....Manny on a backwards "k" to end the series cool

Sincerely,
Marianos Cutter

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

Hey Shred,

I'm such a softy, it was such a hard fought battle tonight, I thought I might have a heart attack, I was on the edge of my seat, but then I stood the rest of the game...I felt sorry for the Rockies myself even though my Fightin' Phils pulled through.  If the Phils don't win it for the second year in a row, the last team I want to see win is the Yankees! (sorry any Yankee fans) It would be sweet, only if my Phils don't prevail to see Joe Torre get even with them Yanks! They gave him such a raw deal.

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

My sincere apology to you Angela...the World Champions, the Phillies showed many that there not going to let all the Dodger hype pass them by....I'll be happy to let my Yanks play them for all the marbles

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

I'm not really a fan and have no particular team that I follow, but I do remember the basics and am quite enjoying the Phillies vs. Dodgers that's live on ESPN America.

I could google it, but I'm sure one of you here can explain it better - am I right in thinking that Ramirez was suspended for drugs? No way he can get hair like that without steroids. lol

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

Dodgers blew Thursdays game by keeping that 21 year old in too long.  On friday they got lucky.  But like my dad always said I'd rather be lucky then good any day, because I can always get better!  Go L.A.!

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

CC Sabathia is paying off huge so far....the Yanks havent won it all yet but they look real tough to beat.....the Angels with that shabby defense is going to get eliminated quickly if they dont play any better.....we will see if the second game doesnt get rained out, or the Angels may see Sabathia pitch every game like Scosia said big_smile

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

Sometimes I think coaches over-coach, over-think...I mainly think this during March madness.  About last night...I think it was a HUGE mistake to take Pedro Martinez out last night, not just because of the turn of events in the 8th inning, I thought it before that. Pedro was pitching so well.  Why mess up a good thing, he was SO ON...Charlie left Cliff Lee in for 9 innings during the Rockies game.  The only reasoning had to be that Pedro hadn't pitched for a while.

ADD3-I agree about the 1st game, felt sorry for your pitcher, he was begging to be taken out of the game.

I have always thought golf was the ultimate head case of sports, but when you look at just the pitching aspect of baseball, its a total head case!!!  (example...Brad Lidge)

George-haha. That hair is something else, I don't respect Manny as much since the steroid thing.

Anyway, very frustrating game, from the Phillies fan angle. We had tickets to see Ian Anderson last night and we were so annoyed that it turned out to be on the same night as the Phillies playoff game, but as it turned out, listening to the last inning on the radio was better than taking it in visually. hmm

And Ian Anderson turned out to be one of the most amazingly, unique concerts I've been to in a very long time.  (acoustic Ian Anderson ~ ian was in a very good mood and all his eccentricities were very entertaining...brought  lots of talent with him, as well)

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

What a game in New York tonight, ashame the Angels lose the game on an error.....I say shorten the regular season to the original 154 games....one day we'll be playing this series in December yikes......yes it'sad that Pedro got pulled yesterday, I think he had only thrown 85 pitches....Charlie Manuel should have asked Pete if he had any gas in the tank, every game is too crucial to lose carelessly.....plenty more baseball left to play, so I couldnt be happier big_smile

Re: 2009 Baseball Playoffs

The series is going back to New York, I want the Yanks to clinch this series at home...good game last night, but I have to give Girardi a good slappin around for leaving Burnett in to start the 7th after that long Yankee half....never should have let my man Joe Torre leave, but he made some questionable decisions in his own series....it's all good, cuz I love to manage from my loung chair with the wife lol at me when I curse at the TV
