Topic: What kind of guitar is that?
The red one that looks like a cross between a Danelectro and a National - slide mostly - I cannot find a reference to it. Sounds great.

I believe it's an ernie ball musicman baritone
If not, this, you don't mean the LP from cradle rock do you?
Might be talking about the Chandler Electicslide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jom6eH_5R0
Its definitely the Chandler - Thanks - I feel some GAS coming on...
I saw a near mint one go for like $1200 on TGP. Talk about a gas attack! I wanted to jump on that one so bad...too bad I'm a lousy slide player.
I've had the pleasure of playing one. Their original I'll say that, I didn't buy it because it wasn't for me. The controls were in odd places for me, i can live with gibsons weird knob placement but I feel so much more at home on a Stratocaster I gave into the Fender instead for that purchase. They have really good tones coming out of those guitars though.

I can only find one reviewer for these on Harmony Central. the price he paid in 2000 was about 1/3 the price of a new one now and his major complaint was the lack of output [hi hum] from the pickup. Maybe JB's use has helped the price up a bit I don't know, but I do not know of other artists who use these. Apart from JB, I can only find one amateur doing an SRV cover on one on Youtube. JB certainly makes it seem worthwhile - but he is an exceptional player on any guitar.
I had no problem with the output and didn't notice the hum at all really, my thing was if felt weird and I didn't like the controlls in place they were at. I only tired it out because I saw a video of Joe playing "Down By The River" which he should bring back to the live set. Its just one of my all time favorites. As for the guitar, the one I played wasn't set up for slide because the action felt very low, and I also tired it out in a blues jr. with 20 other freakin guitar players in playing in the back ground, so if there was a lack of power I couldn't tell by the low volume i was playing, and if there was bad hum I didn't hear it because again low volumes. Hum btw doesn't bother me from single coils because all my strats are not noiseless. My main Stratocaster has cheap GFS pickups in it and I don't hear no hum from them.

Sounds like you were at Guitar Center.

No Doubt lol - I'm usually the guy thats playing the amp on 10 though... Sorry in advance, but I like loud and I have always been loud, ask my parents, neighbbors, people 3 streets away, if they want me to buy something I obviously have to put it through its paces lol.
Ben
That's the way it ought to be though, especially if you are a serious buyer/repeat customer. What kills me is the kids who just go out of highschool (or skipped class) and crank up the Line 6 Spiders playing the same palm-muted power chords. I just bought a house but my neighbors are never home and I live alone...CAN YOU SAY LOUD!!!!
I have a new appreciation for my amps now that I can hear them cranked up properly!

I know what your laying down, my job has me on evenings (nobody is around either) so for about a year now I've been putting on a rock concert all day, everyday. Actually busted out the camera so maybe I'll do another video soon, its been a while...

"these go to 11"
Sorry could n't resist an excuse to quote one of the best rock quotes ever...
Oh and I just wanted to add something to a thread about the Chandler Lectra Slide, - I love the tone on "Burning Hell"
come to think of it, it was most likely a guitar center or the now liquidated Mars music. I like guitar center the best because if you wanna buy an amp they got a room just for you to crank up loud. i refer to it as the loud room. It a magical mystical place where you can really make your hearing go bad if you stay too long. Ahhhh the desibles!!!!! love it. Just don't have babies though because if you do you'll find out even a line 6 pod with head phones will wake them up.
