Topic: My Groups playing its first gig tonight!

Hey I just wanted to let everybody know that I'm scared shitless and can't wait for 6 PM tonight and 8 PM tonight.  My group I'm playing in (The Eric Kent Project) is playing its first gig tonight.  We get 2 sets for 25 minutes each.  Its this place in Morganton NC called the Catawba Brewing Co.  Whats nice about it is all I need to do is bring my guitar, the man that owns the place has a lot of high end stuff (PA equipment) set up already so we use his amps and he doesn't spend a lot of time setting up for us.  Here is the best part.  $25 gets us a cd of one set, so I can finally post some audio for you guys to make fun of us.  Here is the link to the place.   http://www.catawbavalleybrewingcompany.com/  If your in the North Carolina Piedmont and your band wants to make a demo then you should really check this place out! 

We sort of do Classic rock in the Southern style I guess.  We plan on playing "Give Me Thee Steps", "midnight Rider", Crossroads, Dreams I'll never see (molly hachets version) Bridge of Sighs, I shot the Sheriff, and our take on HOuse of the Rising sun.  Normally I play a 2001 Fender american series Stratocaster and my partner in guitar plays a 2007 Les Paul Standard.  So you should be able to tell who's doing what when and where.  I'll keep you updated on how it went and maybe this weekend try and post sound clips.  Wish me luck!

Well we did great.  Keep in mind we only practice 3 hours a week if that and what you got is a pretty decent group of 6 playing music.  We thought we were only going to play a 25 minute set but no other bands were there so we played a full hour.  We Started off with Give me Three Steps, then followed into midnight Rider.  We didn't hit it right until we got to our 3rd song Crossroads. We ripped the roof off the place with that.  over all a great night of playing and i hope to have music posted next week.

Sorry Ad3three,   I didn't see this post earlier. I would have come and checked ya'll out. I live in morganton and an ironic thing is I worked in that building when I was in high school twenty five years ago. It was a non-alcohol bar back then. Let me know next time your up my way.
