Topic: Hello again everybody
On dreary day off here in Pittsburgh PA I finally have a chance to sit down and catch up on some things here on the board. The main reason I have been out of touch is that when the NHL stanley cup finals were taking place a friend of mine from Phoenix AZ, his daughter, my g.f., and myself went to a local sports tavern ( because I did not get the VS channel ) and watched the Pens win the first game they won in the series. My g.f. and I returned to my place to find that while we were out, my entire plaster ceiling collapsed. 70 year old sand plaster that fell down in a bunch of big chunks weighing like 20 lbs. each. If we would have all been in there we all would have gotten roughed up or worse. My living room looked like a bomb went off in there. Dust and debri everywhere. It truely was shocking to walk into something like that.
I live in a co-operative living plan and they wanted to also replace the ceilings in my utility room and spare bedroom as well as re wire my entire place, so I had to move all my belongings to a vacant unit. It took three months to get back into my own home. The co-op uses their own maintenance people as well as outside contractors. Thus I had to wait for their electrician, then the cable company, then their dry wallers, then their plasterer, then the electrician again, then cleaning/ re painting/ moving my stuff back..... Finally im all back in and I guess the bottom line was that no one got hurt in the "implosion". Heck I got a new looking home out of the deal. Just bummed that my perfect old Technics speaker covers got all torn up.
Saw a few of you at the PGH arts and blues festivals'. Dont think I saw anyone at the rib festival for Grand Funk. I wanted to hit the HOT AUGUST fest in MD but couldnt get the time off work. Anyways i hope to see Joe and all of you good people around these parts sometime in the not too distant future. Take care all..... DARRIN
