39 years gone
The influence is still felt

Re: James Marshall Hendrix RIP

good call. If a 10 year old child today wants to play Hendrix songs (as mine does) it says something about the mark he left on this World.

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

I might keep you satisfied

Re: James Marshall Hendrix RIP

If you asked anyone from 5 to 105 year old ... name a guitarist
Jimi Hendrix would be the most popular answer .. it's as easy as that
If you see a photo of Jimi you can hear his sound, he is an Iconic legend within music
A innovative groundreaker that really did open the door to ROCK MUSIC

i love and appreciate him even more today

i was cylcling on my bike by the sea the other evening as the sun was setting and listening on my iPod to Hendrix, it really goosebump'd me

Music for ever

Couldn't agree more Michael!

As it happens, I also remember the day pretty clearly. I was living in a hovel behind Kings Cross with my first wife - seeing the 'E'vnin Stannah' poster on the paper seller's box: "Famous pop star dead" - and wondering who it was this time. As soon as I saw the headline and bought the paper, I was in shock. Went home, showed the missus, turned on the black and white telly and had a sob together. sad

Played all the Hendrix I had for days.....

He died no more than a mile away as the crow flies (which it doesn't in London, obviously).

RIP Iron Man

Re: James Marshall Hendrix RIP

By chance I read a book about him the last weeks and I enjoyed very much the remastered "Electric Ladyland" including the making of DVD. Yes, he is a legend, and very much alive still.
