Topic: Jim Carroll Dies

From Classic Rock Magazine:

"Celebrated and influential punk poet Jim Carroll has died at the age of 60.

He died from a heart attack at his home in Manhattan. Carroll’s biggest impact came with his 1978 autobiographical tale The Basketball Diaries. This was based on his time at elite school Trinity, which was funded through a basketball scholarship. In 1995 it was turned into an acclaimed movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

In his time, Carroll worked with a variety of talents. These included Andy Warhol, Lou Reed, Blue Öyster Cult and Pearl Jam. And his 1980 album, Catholic Boy, is regarded as a classic."

I had read several of his books of poetry as well as Basketball Diaries. Also had the Catholic Boy album back in the day. Always thought his song "These are People Who Died" as a classic song. RIP Mr. Carroll. - Rev. Paul

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.
