Topic: Bit of a s**t night...

Hey..

Kinda had a really rough night..

Parents went on holiday this morning.. And I had to have our dog put down 2nite..

I signed on the dotted line that made everything ok, i had to tick all kinds of boxes.. I racked up some huge vet bills just to do right..

Only thing thats getting me thro is Sloe Gin.

Right about now i feel like a proper murdering b**tard. I'm in total breakdown. I've definately had easier nights!

Yeah.. not sure why i've put this out there.. these forums have become kinda a second home to me.. Joe has a way of expressing everything I wish I could.. especially right about now.. I've got a gig tomorrow.. I've no idea how im gonna pull it off...

Eugh....

Re: Bit of a s**t night...

Hey Greg,

Hang in there buddy, we've got your back. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family, always a tough time. And don't feel bad posting here, we can all relate to times like your going through. Just remember though, tomorrow will be a better day.

Take Care,

Roy

Re: Bit of a s**t night...

Sorry for your loss Greg. I had to do the same this year. My Baron was a 13 year old Dobie. The SWEETEST dog ever. Remember, you did it because you loved him and wanted his suffering to end. Animals do not appear to have a sense of mortality. They wouldn't do so many stupid things if they did. And, you did it because there was no option B. It's a reminder that, unless you have a parrot or turtle, you're likely to out live them. I hope images of your dog, running and playing in doggie heaven, give you comfort.

Side story...The morning after I got Baron's ashes, I was awoken early in the morning by one loud Baron bark...his signal to go out...I jumped out of bed and was halfway to the door, when I remembered he was gone. It made me smile.         Cathy

Re: Bit of a s**t night...

Been there, done that, so I know what you're going through.
My dog was 14 years old when she had to be put down. I cried like a baby and ain't afraid to admit it.
If you've had a loving, faithful animal for any length of time  and aren't crushed by that loss, there's something wrong.
It'll get easier...remember the good times.

Re: Bit of a s**t night...

Yeah, that sucks.  Once I had kids, the pets thing took second place.  Still sucks, just not as bad.

HEY THAT SOUNDS LIKE MY BAND:  We don't suck near as bad as we used to... hmm
