Re: Great Books on music or guitar

Just finished (hey, I'm a slow reader) the book "Riding Shotgun" written by Gerry McAvoy with Pete Chrisp. Gerry's acount of 35 years spent as the bass player for Rory Gallagher and Nine Below Zero. Some very funny, interesting and sad parts about the late, great Rory Gallagher; many things of which that I did not know.

If you're a fan of Rory's, I would definitely suggest that you get a copy of this book. Quite a story.....Rory will always be remembered and his music will live on forever.

Oh, I forgot to put that one here:

Mick Wall: When giants walked the earth

... book on Led Zeppelin and very well worth reading. It has some bits of new journalism in between, but not the annoying kind (and new journalism can be SO annoying...) - it may not always be "the truth" or "the facts" he writes about (as he writes some bits from the perspective of the four band members and G - "you are Jimmy Page"...), but I read the whole thing in less than 2 weeks and it´s about 600 pages. I liked it.

This is one I want to mention, but is more about Creativity.

"Ignore Everybody, and 39 Keys to Creativity" by Hugh MacLeod

150 pages, and hilarious - highly recommended. Great one-liners in there.
