You get to a point with amps and there's not much difference between them anymore. I'm sure Joe could get cat5 or carol-ann or fuchs or bogner, or budda, or even Ceriatone, to build him an amp with any sound he wants. He sounded great playing through Derek's super reverb. At this point, it's more having fun playing with different amps then it is sounding good in concert. It must be a great position to be in...

#1 on the super reverb his sound and playing was excellent .was that straight in to amp or was he using or other pedal tubescreamer

I'm thinking that was straight through and cranked, and using his volume knob (of course) for clean to dirty. Judging by the video, I didn't notice him using a pedal for his lead. He doesn't really need it to help him out on the lead (like I do). smile

I've thought that too, that really he's got his tone. But what it probably is, is that he gets bored. Like me, something always has to change.
On my LP for instance, I changed the pickups, then changed the pots, then the hardware, then took off the switch washer, now I'm getting the high pickup rings, and no doubt I'll want the green inlays out next.

It's just a way to keep things interesting.

He had a pedal up there on the Fender.  I saw him playing with the knobs at the begining of the super jam.  It sounded like a Tube Screamer, you know sweet mids and singing overdrive.
