Re: Argentinian Guitar Players

Tripod,

Wow!  I didn't know you had posted so many videos of different groups and genres.  Right now I'm listening to Nasta Super's  Que La Seurte Te Acompane album.  So far I got two songs ( "La Carta" &" Si Termino" ).  I really like the second song cause it's borderline jazz.  Nasta Super's a great band.  ITunes only has that one album and I noticed the videos were something different and very good.  Doesn't even bother me the singing in Spanish - music is the universal language..right?
You're right about talented musicians in Argentina and  I'm going to enjoy listening to the other artists.  Thanks.  And I'm sorry about our disagreement last month.  Sometimes I can be insufferable (that means an as*hole in English).  I'm working on being a nicer person.

that guy called Rafael Nasta, i've talked with him, he's very influenced by Robben Ford and SRV. I also asked him about Joe...just imagine what he answered...

He's not near Joe's playing ability, but I really, really like his style.  It's like a breath of fresh air.  I'm going to have to search for more of his music.  Any recommendations?  I'd appreciate it.

Re: Argentinian Guitar Players

I like Joe much more than Rafael, however Nasta is more jazz-orientated. They are quite different.

I'm sorry i can't recommend more from him because i'm not familiarized with his albums but with his live performances.

Another guy with a similar style is Matias Cipiliano... he's very talented and plays interesting things...

Re: Argentinian Guitar Players

I've been researching Rafael's music and the more I hear the better I like him.  I wouldn't minimize his playing compared to Joe cause that wouldn't be fair.  This guy's got more going for him than the typical next SRV comparisons.  His rhythm section is no slouch either.  Thanks again for providing a taste of Rafael and your other Argentine recs.  Music is indeed alive and well down south.
