Topic: My new rig!

Hey everyone!  I created a thread a while ago about "dream rigs".  While the latest incarnation of my amp rig is not my "dream rig" it's very close and I'm VERY happy with it.  I borrowed EJ's clean/dirty/lead idea and added my own tweaks and I feel that its a great blend of all the rigs I've had since I was a kid.  I started out playing on Fender tube combos then migrated to the Marshall style heads and the latest "must have" was a Dumble style amp.  This rig incorperates all of those and along the way I think I've come up with a good variety of tones.  It's a happy medium between my take on EJ's and JB's tones (my two biggest influences).  Hope you guys enjoy!

Holy moses thats a hell of a rig!!! From today I will call you the gear-brain ("gear hound" seems occupied lol )
I have watched it twice now and you really have the best of 3 worlds. Just amazing this spacey clean sound.
Again I noticed how good this Fender cab sounds. Good playing too!
Now you probably need two roadies to bring it to your gigs.

Congrats man,
Alex

Re: My new rig!

I love the fender too.
Great rig! If I'd try to take it into my room neither me nor a guitar could be in there at the same time lol tongue
And I'm also lookin' for 2 nice amps...

Re: My new rig!

Thanks guys!  I still wish I could get those tones with just ONE amp and ONE cab.  I wonder if I should get a uber expensive 3 channel head and get the Voodoo Lab GCX Ground Control for presets?  I'm digging the hell out of my rig right now but i don't know many places that would allow me to use it all.  Anyways, yes that old Fender cab has been a real jewel especially seeing how I payed next to nothing for it.  The Super was also aquired on the cheap and IMO has some of the best cleans/mild breakup I've ever heard.  I find it hard to stop playing with those cleans a lot of times!

Nice one Justin
watched clip last night some cool sounds going on there still like the Dailey  but this rig is not very practical , so you need to simplyfy I think .  find 2 amps you can work with would be a comprimise, I love Joes rig ect but have always admired guys who could use 1 amp and couple of pedals and sound Awesome, this may also be an easier way to get that sound of your own you were after  ? keep at it and keep the clips up( liked the eric J clip by the way)

Re: My new rig!

Nice man!  Once you've tasted the multi-amp goodness there is no going back.  Simplify your cabling as much as possible so you can set up quickly, that's what I did.  I can have my three amp set up and running in 15 minutes or so.  3-halfstacks...one vintage fender twin, 2 vintage jcm800 (one 50, one 100 watt).  Framptone combiner, blending is the way to go!

Where the hell does one get a black-backed gold top anyway?
