Mayer is great in this. I find his music a bit too bland for my tastes so I wouldn't buy his albums. Hopefully he gets some inspiration from Billy Gibbons and FIRES UP!!

the john mayer trio album is good.  for soft rock his other albums aren't bad but i can't disagree with you on the bland part.
