3 great acts, one day, one stage. Can't beat it. $2.00 to get in.

Hey Paul,

There was another band too included for the $2.00. I thought Joel Pingitore and the Playground of Sound was an excellent band! Just a little clip I found on Youtube:

I watched their first 2 songs when they came out and wasn't impressed so went over to another stage and watched D.B. Bryant for a while. I got back for their last 2 songs and was blown away. Could not beleive it was the same band I had left earlier.

I know what you mean, they started a little slow and then Joel took over the show with his guitar playing. My goodness, he has SRV down to a science. Man, he sure can play that guitar!

Gary, you should have been there!! smile

Joe is the Best!

Re: best show of summer

All in all it has been a great Summer for shows so far:

Big James & the Chicago Playboys/Davy Knowles & BDS in Aurora
BDS/Aaron Williams & the HooDoo in Madison
Tyler Bryant/BDS/Buddy Guy at Summerfest
Jonathan Tyler & Northern Lights/Lynyrd Skynyrd/Kid Rock at Summerfest
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band at Jefferson County Fair
Black Crowes at Waukesha County Fair
Bottle Rockets at Shank Hall
Steve Miller Band at Washington County Fair
Blackberry Smoke at Scandinavia Corn Roast

Still alot coming up next month and half.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Re: best show of summer

I think the first offical day of summer was June 21st....soooo, guess I havent been gigging this summer.....so I'm going to give the RAH the edge over AC/DC by a whisker....the entire build up to the RAH was unforgettable.....AC/DC is the greatest rocknroll band I've ever seen!!!.....I'm still young so I havent seen it all yet.... the wife and I are talking about Memphis next May, that festival is awesome.....dont think I'm going anywhere the rest of the year, so the music will be on the boob tube or the cd player....guess there's this DVD due out in Sept that's suppose to be pretty good, guess I'll put it on the LCD screen and see for myself cool

Later ladies and gents

Re: best show of summer

Best show of the Summer so far is the Reno Blues Festival kick off concert
featuring Lil Dave Thompson. If he plays in your area go see him. His tone is razor sharp and the guitar playing is superb. He played only two covers in an 80 minute set, the rest orignals from his 4 releases. He will be recording a live CD next year. Buying it is a no brainer after seeing him play.

Re: best show of summer

Hot August Blues - cause I was there with about 5000 others.

My friends:

Joe Bonamassa = the rockingest blues guitarist of his generation

and

Derek Trucks = the jazziest blues guitarist in a soul stew of his generation.

Hard working fully grown men.
