Re: best show of summer

It's a tie this summer between Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam at Summerfest in Milwaukee or Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam at the Prairie Dog Blues Festival in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin from this past Saturday
night. smile

A very close second was Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam at Ballydoyles in Aurora, Illinois. wink

I think you're being spoilt Roy!

The obvious choice for me tho is the RAH show. Without a doubt cool

T smile

Edited to add..... I think May is  a spring month roll but the best show so far EVER!

Re: best show of summer

The RAH just about does for the decade for me. It was just about the night...

Re: best show of summer

Hey everyone,

I would have said RAH too, but the thread was "best show of summer". Joe's RAH show was May 4th which is definitely not summer in Wisconsin. Heck, we've had snowstorms in May. We all know how special the RAH show was, maybe it should have its own category? cool

Roy

P.S. And you're right Trisy, I'm spoiled rotten however, I can live with that. wink

Re: best show of summer

Assuming summer stated in June or July (still waiting in Scotland), I'd say without a doubt Derek Trucks smile (so far!)

Re: best show of summer

Tyler Bryant/BDS/Buddy Guy at Summerfest

3 great acts, one day, one stage. Can't beat it. $2.00 to get in.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Hey Paul,

There was another band too included for the $2.00. I thought Joel Pingitore and the Playground of Sound was an excellent band! Just a little clip I found on Youtube:

I watched their first 2 songs when they came out and wasn't impressed so went over to another stage and watched D.B. Bryant for a while. I got back for their last 2 songs and was blown away. Could not beleive it was the same band I had left earlier.
