Topic: Joe, ever tried TonePros locking hardware?

I recently got a tonepros locking tailpiece, fitted it on my les paul. What a difference! It's so unbelievably clear now and solid sounding. Without it you don't notice theres anything wrong but once its on it's clear something has been missing.
Sustain is increased, bass is added, clarity of notes and resonance. Definately not going back to the gibson one.

I recommend it to anyone with a gibson!

I use the TP bridge and aluminum tailpiece on both of my Lauher (awesome luthier) customs...killer hardware.  Top wrap the tailpiece too, great transfer!  Oops...my name is not Joe.

I have so many guitars with stopbar/tailpieces...

From forum history, the jist of what I gathered is that if it "sounds" like it needs it, it can greatly improve the sound of a guitar, but is not necessary for every one. I don't know if this is true or not. It's always in the back of my head though.

Is it ok to do just the tailpiece? Or is it a must to do both (bridge too)?

Aluminum tailpiece alone is around 80 to 100 usd...bridge around 60, and they can be ordered separate.  As far as the if you need it aspect, you really won't know until you try it.  It is what they put on the 50s pauls and some say was part of their magic.  I love the fact that they don't fall off when I change strings too.  You can do one or the other or both...up to you.  I just wasn't gonna put a nashville on a custom handmade guitar, I converted my luthier to the TP system too.

I didn't bother getting the aluminium tailpiece. The standard (I think zinc) one cost me £40.
I havn't bothered with a bridge from tonepros as I'm changing a nashville for abr-1 and had to get an allparts abr-1 (which is sadly on backorder)
