I will probably try to get along to see Simon at Charlotte Street on the 7th; it should be a great chance to see him in a smallish venue. Tickets are priced at only £7 at the door or £5 with membership card. (I think I shall be signing up to membership when I see Jay Tamkin tonight.
) Tickets can also be bought from Ticketweb and I've borrowed their narrative on Simon:
"Irishman Simon McBride evokes the spirit of such great bands as Free and Led Zeppelin As a player Simon has very much his own identifiable: a combination of high energy tone rich blues phrasing with more of a rock edge than many of the other players on the Nugene records label. Fans of hard rock players such as Michael Schenker, Viv Campbell and even hints of early to mid period Gary Moore will find much to enjoy here, along with the more usual bluesy suspects such as Walter Trout, Jeff Healey and the Joe Bonamassa."
Who's this new band "the Joe Bonamassa"?
More info and a youtube clip of Simon playing Little Wing is on Charlotte Street's website here: http://www.charlottestblues.com/special … n-mcbride/
Matt and anyone else who has or hasn't heard Simon or hasn't got his album, Rich Man Falling, I can't recommend it highly enough. If you like Joe I can guarantee you'll also like Simon.

“The guy who has helped the blues industry the most is Joe Bonamassa and I would say he is more rock than some rock stuff, so to me blues is whatever you want it to be!”
