You're damn right it's not the way to join in. You may not be aware of the fact that this is a 'music' forum, where we deliberately do NOT do politics, religion, or other subjects that tend to inflame people.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion about US politics, policy, or anything else, but this is NOT the forum to post such views in. There are plenty of other places on the web you can go to.

1) Simon is a different person. I have no need of creating a new account. And his opinion was simply excellent.

2) I say it's all fake. Should i be banned because of that? I don't think so. I only expressed my point of view on this matter. If you only accept "positive" messages, then you have a serious problem.

Gee, and all I wanted to do at the beginning of this thread, was to point out that 40 years ago there was a significant human event that inspired many people in the world at that time and still does today. Otherwise, we would not have things like Hubble, Space Stations and the like. I wonder when mankind will realize that hating one another is not what life is all about? Or is it that through that hatred, we truly are doomed?

What if the Big Rock was going to impact Earth in the next month that would end this place as we know it, would there be Peace then? Sad.....

You were right to pay tribute to the wonderful achievement 40 years ago.

Many wonderful things have been achieved throughout history, when the lid comes off the expences - For example -  the Great Pyramids. I've been up the spire of Salisbury Cathedral - and you think - How did they build this on boggy land with  wooden scaffolding ,a chisel/ block and tackle 1,100 years ago ? But it is there. The workmen over the years have left dated graffiti all over the walls in the roofing.  Everyone has the right to their views, that's ok, no sweat. Me ? I don't think Patrick Moore has been lying for 40 years. I've been six inches away from the large specimen of Moon rock in the Natural History musem in Kensington , London. I don't think that countless scientists are 'in' on a conspiracy. In the late Seventies I spent some time with the man who made the phone call to Armstrong and Aldrin on the Moon's surface. (Richard Milhouse Nixon- He was real too;short guy,very polite - but why was he named after a future Simpsons character ???)

Seriously, I think the 'It didn't happen' cult is more a product of tacky journalism.What new angle can we bring to the Moon Landings ? In the UK, a national newspaper ran a front page story that a B52 Bomber had been found, abandoned, on the Moon, by astronauts. Anything to sell copy, and that, I believe, is the heart of the attempted descreditation of the Moon landing.

I just finished reading Rick Wakeman's 'Grumpy Old Rock Star' He tells an anecdote about Moony, who asked him out to dinner one evening whilst on a foreign tour.Rick accepted, but was very worried that Moony would misbehave.As it happens, Moony was a perfect gent, dressed formally, pleasant conversation and Moony was charming to the relieved staff.

A perfect evening out.

After coffee, Moony paid the tab, left a handsome tip and then - ran around the restaurant twice on top of the tables. They both legged it down the road but Rick was nabbed and spent the night in the cells.
