Topic: Joe's amps on North Sea Jazz Festival 2009???

Guys-

I'm sure you've seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiw1XAb8G9A - Joe seems to have forsaken most of the switching pedalboard & the four amp set-up and is going for a triple threat Marshall rig- can't really tell which models they are- probably a Vintage Modern & a JCM 2000?

So Joe- will your Jubilee's / Two Rock's / Twinkleland's / Fuchs et al be up for grabs on eBay soon? big_smile:D:D

'course it may have just been a rental rig???

This don't look like no express way to me...

Re: Joe's amps on North Sea Jazz Festival 2009???

Looks like 3 JCM900 halfstacks to me.  The DSL has red or green lights on the front of the amp revealing what channel you are on.  I think he's only using the 2 baffled JCM900 halfstacks and the other is just a spare.  Joe has stated that he will pretty much rent a couple 100 watt Marshalls for fly in gigs and when lugging the big expensive rig is not practical.  The beauty is that he still sounds like himself and it would've fooled me if it was just a recording.  I would have sworn it was his Jubilee/Category 5 lol .  It also seems that he's backed off of the reverb/echo a bit too, at least in that clip.  His main rig is still unbeatable though, I hope he has it when I see him in a few months big_smile

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

I am sure Joe was asked to do the north sea jazz  late on, so it will be an on the fly rig. IMHO the playing is great but I prefer the sound of his regular rig , the marshalls sound kinda sterile to my ears
