Topic: Scrolling

Okay, first I want to say - I'm not normally a complainer.  At least I TRY not to be.  But I work on computers all day and I'm getting seriously annoyed with this site.  There is a huge amount of scrolling.  Of course the point, scrolling is not user-friendly.  It's just plain annoying - I want to get to the point first, and then if I have time, check out other things.  SO - in my mind "the point" would be the topic lists ... negatory on the Bonamassa updates... and the stickys are not cool either.  Please dude who works on this site, help the seriously annoyed who spend WAAAAYYYYY too much time on the computer.  Yes, I'm sad I know, but throw me (and hopefully us) a bone!!!  Thanks for considering smile  Now back to my scrolling...

Re: Scrolling

How do you get around scrolling with a long thread? Stickies are a necessity in any forum. I simply go to the front page and see which topics have new posts, then start with the new posts, very quick and very little scrolling. Ya just need need to learn how to use the forum wink

Re: Scrolling

I do kinda see the point with the updates at the top, but oh well, doesn't really bother me that much.

Re: Scrolling

Well I do agree that three of the stickies under general topics should go, the one about the RAH, the release date of TBOJH and the affiliate programme.

So should the Bonamassa updates, which are anything but up to date. Indeed keeping them on does suggest the forum is being somewhat neglected by those than run it.

Agree entirely on this, Duncan.

There is forum software that allows you to go directly to the last post in a given topic, and which also remembers up to what point you have read on a long topic so that when you open that topic you start from where you want to be starting. I don't think that this particular s/w has that capability.

Re: Scrolling

All valid issues. As a mod I can only delete, edit, stick and unstick topics. I'll get on that later this evening. For the updates Nicki takes care of that I can forward him the post and see if he will take care of that. I don't really know about the scroll thing.

Not many fans took any notice of this rule, as it turned out!
