It's all fake...

Like Michael said, i too, remember our dad waking me and my brother to watch the historic occasion. I think it's the single most important event of our time, and it hasn't been bettered, in my opinion.

I stand corrected about your knowledge of the Holocaust and should have known better seeing as how your country was a Nazi's home away from home following the war.
As to the faked moon landing, I put that right up with the second gunman on the grassy knoll, Elvis sightings, etc., etc. and all the other tabloid tidbits that gullible people like you swallow.
About my country being run by a bunch of liers (sic) - even if it's true it's none of your business.   This forum was not created for this kind of debate nor should it be tolerated.  You're nothing but a negative flamer that has nothing to say and should be banned here imo.

It's funny you mentioned Wernher von Braun.  His contention was that he was forced to become a member of the National Socialist Party and later the Waffen SS to pursue his vision of Rocketry.  I doubt anyone, especially someone like von Braun, could refuse any demands by the Nazis.  The fact that he ended up becoming an American citizen is obvious - had he not, the Russians would have taken him and that would have tipped the balance of power in the Cold War.
Regarding your right to slam the U.S. - By all means wail away at the big bad wolf....only find a different outlet.  This music forum is not the place for your rant.

I must say this about the moon landing; as far as I'm concerned it was absolutley real. Hey, I'm not saying that governments, any government, has not tried to pull the wool over people's eyes at one time or another. However, with that said, one of our local news anchors brought up a very good point on a local radio station the day of the anniversary. He too said maybe the governement and NASA and everyone else concerned could pull off a fake and make it look real,  but how in the world would you get every news agency to do the same? As he said, "Most of us can't even decide where to go to lunch together, how could we all try and hide the truth?"

I thought that statement spoke volumes.....

An ex- colleague of mine , a Brit,worked for an engineering firm in the Sixties that supplied parts for Apollo including the moon lander.
He was on quality control which was dictated by NASA.

To make a very small metal part for the Moon Mission -

1/ You go to South Africa, visit all the mines and select a mine extracting the finest metals.
2/ You test and examine samples from tons of ore
3/ You select the very best ore
4/The ore is melted down to ingots
5/ You examine and test/ X-Ray, then select tons of ingots
6/ You carefully test and select 'the purest' ingots.
7/ You cast the part
8/ You test/ X Ray/ destroy  castings
9/ You select dozens of perfect castings which my colleague flys with, to the UK
10/ You make scores of the same part, to the highest standard.
11/ You test /X ray each part/ and select the most perfect parts
12/ You have , say 20 parts, which are absolutely perfect.
13/ My Ex - colleague  flys to the USA and delivers 10 perfect parts,perfectly packaged and secure, signs them over.
14/ NASA, examine,  test and endorse the parts then select six for the Mission.
15/ They then choose one to go on the lander and keep three or four spares. - the most perfect parts humanly possible to produce.

And they do that for every single part - which is why the thing worked.
Would you go to that expence and trouble to fake a landing ?
