Topic: The Open.....

Two monts shy of his 60th birthday, Tom Watson leads The Open after three rounds. Even though I have to work tomorrow, I'll be sittng on the edge of my chair hoping Tom has one more good round in him. How wonderful would it be for an older Gent to be a Young Man one more time? wink

We're pullin' for you Tom!!

Re: The Open.....

Yeah, Tom Watson, showing the youngsters how to play the game of golf. It is good to see. Let's pray Tom does have another good round in him.

Re: The Open.....

Well, Tom didn't do it in 72 holes, he bogeyed 18 and he's now tied with Stewart Cink. A playoff we'll have. The best total score after four holes wins. And if they're tied then, it's Sudden Death. yikes

Re: The Open.....

Well, Tom didn't do it in the playoff, but my hat goes off to Him and Stewart Cink!

It's hard for me to imagine how someone almost four years older than I am, could beat almost all of the world's top Golf professionals at the greatest Golfing event in the world. Tom Watson, truly a marvel! smile

Re: The Open.....

Yeah, Tom nearly made it. But in the play off, you could see he didn't have quite enough in the end. But congratulations to Stewart, Open Champion 2009.

Re: The Open.....

Cink's a good golfer, and he finally made up for missing that short putt at the US Open a few years ago that cost him the title. So it is good to see him do that. But man it would've been cool if Tom would've won that.

Re: The Open.....

I would of pulled out a wedge instead of using my putter for that third shot on eighteen, but that's just me.  I'm sure Tom went with the best club for him.  Sure wish he could've pulled it off, but his tank appeared empty in the play-off.  Congrats to Stewart Cink though!  Like Deezer said - the man was due this time around.

Re: The Open.....

I have never felt worse while watching a golf tournament, then I did when Tom missed that putt on 18 in regulation.
Like reading a wonderful book that has a crappy ending!
