Topic: Davy Knowles "Tear Down The Walls" a new video....

There's a new video out showing Davy Knowles and his Band during the making of his new album "Coming Up for Air". The video focuses on the song "Tear Down The Walls" and features both studio clips with Peter Frampton and others along with some clips from live shows. I was honored when I was asked by Davy's management if they could use some of my video footage from their performances at Ballydoyle's in Aurora, Illinois and from Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin both in June. Thought I'd share the finished product with everyone:

I'm sure you didnt get my email Bubba, but that was a really great video, and congrats for your help with the video of Davy that his management team has asked for....dont have the album yet, but I will for sure shortly

Thanks my French Brother! wink You're right, I didn't get your E-mail and we've got to figure that out. Anyway, you'll really like the new album; it shows some different sides to Davy's music and I've been enjoying it. I'll see Davy, PK and Steve again on August 1st at the Prairie Dog Blues Festival in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. And get this, it's held on St. Feriole Island which is located right on the Mississippi River. Never been there but sounds pretty cool. cool

Gotta get my hands on that album, but I think it's already been mentioned elsewhere that we seem to have been overlooked in the UK.

Anybody have any news on a UK release date?

I got your email about this video and actually had a moment to check it out.  I must say - I liked it very much.  I love the guitar solos a lot.  You'll have to tell me when Davy is in Wisconsin again (but not until next year with the whole baby coming thing!).  Oh and tell me how the Prairie Dog festival is.  I'm on the distribution list for that festival as I've always wanted to go, but never have been able to yet...

I just asked that question of someone and if I can get you an answer, I will publish it here.

And yes Ges, I was pretty blown away when they asked for permission to use my clips. Darn near fell of my chair! smile

I wrote someone in Davy's management regarding when a release in Europe might be for the new album and this was the response I received back:

"hi Roy,

we're working on the UK/Europe side of things right now - I don't have a fixed release date yet, but it should be Autumn...if all goes to plan!

Christy"

So that's the plan for now. smile

I can never understand why albums get released at different dates around the world - unless perhaps it's being held back for a concert tour? wink

I sincerely doubt that there will be a concert tour.   Davy's made his decsion to concentrate soley on the US and good luck to him with it. If he was ever to play the UK he'd have to start in pubs again as noone here knows who he is, so I don't consider him likely to do that...

I wouldn't be too sure of that. Now, I will tell you that I don't have any inside information. However, that said, Davy signed over his new CD to a very good friend of mine and on it he wrote, "Hope to be back to the UK soon!"

So who who knows what's in store? You just never say never...... wink

I looked at this video and it sounds good to me. I can't wait for a UK release so did my usual and ordered from amazon in the states. £8 for the album and £4 for shipping means I'll probably pay no more than a UK release - although it'll take a week or so to arrive - I'll still have it in my hand.

Or I guess you could downlaod from a pay site if you can't wait.
