Topic: An evening with....Carl Carlton & The Songdogs

Maybe this is one for Eva and Eva's Dad 'cos they are in Nürnburg and Munich over the next couple of days but if anyone has a chance to catch this show then DO IT!

If you like a truly rocking and rolling band then this outfit are a must see. Carl Carlton is a musical troubadour and he has a assembled an outfit using one of funks finest bands - Mother's Finest as his backing band. With 'special guests' appearing for a couple of songs here and there they are serving up 3 hours of the best rock ' no roll you could wish for. The show is split into two parts with Carl's band and guests making up the first half, with Mothers Finest performing the second set before they all join on stage at the end.

Last night at Fabrik in Hamburg it was a rollicking ride. If you like the vibe of the Stones, Little Feat, Faces, Robert Palmer and so many others certainly the first half of the show will meet and surpass any expectations. Mothers Finest rock and funk out the second half and the encores are a hell of a lot of fun.

Live music should always be like this

Hey Mike,

A friend of mine saw the show in Cologne and also loved it ...
I´m burying myself with books right now, because it´s the end of the term, but I think they´re also playing the Herzberg festival - I´m not 100% sure wether or not I´m going, but maybe I can catch them there. Sounds good!

Hi Eva,

good luck with the studying........so the student life has some downsides after all!

I think Issy was there last night, at least I thought it was her, so if I was right she can probably confirm. The first half was sensational. I had a smile on my face the whole time. Great songs, great performances. If you go watch out for 'special guest' Max Winter. He sang the Faces 'Stay With Me' and brought the house down. It was Rod Stewart with Steven Tylers power - stunning.

Udo Lindenburg and Jan Delay had cried off. Didn't matter. What a great night out
