Topic: zappa plays zappa

Getting pumped up for Tuesday July 7th night's Zappa plays Zappa Show here in Pittsburgh...:) .
I have the DVD box set which is excellent both visually & sonically so what should I expect for tomorrow's show?
The Rex is a great place to see a show but where the heck are all of the musicians going to fit on stage?
Has anyone seen this recent lineup  ???
Thx, Don

I can't wait to hear your review. If you do a search on Z plays Z, you'll see Ayndre's recent experience as well as other's including mine. I know you'll feel like Frank was there. One of the best shows ever.   Cath

Cathy is 100% right ( as always!).

It's a great, great show. You must go Don. Please let me hear how it was.
In Eindhoven last May 23th he had a new singer.
Comparing to the DVD  no Napoleon Murphy Brock, Steve Vai Terry Bozio but still a brilliant performance.

Have a very nice evening!

Hi ZAPPA Fans....:)

Only got about 4 hours sleep this morning so here's a mini review....I was lucky and got see to Frank 5 times in my life.

Last night was one of the best shows I have seen in a very long time......the only problem was the wait to get in
to the venue which was moved across the street to a club called Diesel (formally Nick's fat city)...Doors were supposed to open at 7 p/m which turned out to be 7.50 instead.
.
The new singer -Ben Thomas did an incredible job with his voice and stage craziness....megaphone & all.
Dweezel opened with his Sg-Les paul on "Apostrophe"  I should have written down the songs but also in no particluar order of the 2 1/2 hour show included: Black Page part 1 & 2,Montanna,Wind up working in a Gas station,Peaches in Regalla,2 or 3 Songs off of Joes' Garage, etc. (many more but I can't remember right now)
.
The final encore song was a 10 minute plus jam of "Wille the Pimp"
.
Dweezel signed everything and anything for the loyal crowd & he stayed all were satisfied.
.
A great show and he played his A** off....unlike the DVD which does not show his true talent..!
.
We had general admission 5 rows back...the premium seats were only say 8 feet ahead of us...for that extra 15-20 dollars they got a black white small sized poster which said Zappa plays Zappa....that and the fact they had a reserved seat...so if you go and have a general admission -Get there early like we did!
