Topic: Eric Johnson tour dates?

I really want to see Eric Johnson live, but at the moment he doesn't seem to have any plans. Does he usually take brakes for a long time, or is it usually just a few weeks? I know stupid question and who cares, but I'm curious.

Me too, wtf?!  I thought it was just me.  Him and Gary Moore.  Eric seems to never do a large tour to far from TX and Gary stays away from the US like its a plague even though there are so many of his fans over here.  And Eric on the Hendrix tour doesn't count.  While I'm sure it was fantastic, I want a ligit tour date.  I wish there was a way to contact both and get it going.  Bummer....

Gary first said that he wouldn't tour the U.S. because of bush, but later i found out that he's afraid of flying.

Re: Eric Johnson tour dates?

I saw Eric at this small local venue early in the year and he mentioned that he was working on a new album, so I'd guess that's where he's at.

Went to see Eric Johnson for the umpteenth time last nite, mostly ‘cause it’s been a while, and I really like the balcony at the House of Blues.  EJ’s guitar playing was great as always and he was a little more interactive with the audience than usual.  The 2-hour setlist featured most of the songs from the 2000 Alien Love Child Live & Beyond CD, lots of cover songs, Blues, & extended jams, with only 1 EJ “Classic”.

Zenland

Morning Sun (cool new song)
Enzo Shuffle
Rain
The Boogie King (extended jamage)
World of Trouble
Last House on the Block (super extended jamage)
Once a Part of Me
Sittin' on Top of the World
Crossroads (Bill Maddox on Vox)
Wind Cries Mary
Rock Me
Righteous
Shape I'm In

Cliffs of Dover intro / Are You Experienced?

Bill Maddox did a nice job on drums and Chris Maresh did double duty on Bass, also playing with the opener, Austin Blues guitarist Jake Andrews.  The balcony was about half-full, not sure about the floor.

The sound and mix during Eric Johnson’s performance were very nice indeed.  Overall, a good show, but I wasn’t particularly inspired.  Maybe I’ve seen him too many times, or was too tired to really get into it.
