All reviews seem to have it right, great first joe gig, disappointed to be on the balcony where, the first three rows weren't allowed to stand !at all! Not even to show massive appreciation for this guys' talent .Hopefull to be at the edinburgh gig in december, though does anyone know if it's an all-seat venue? The Picture House DOES sound like it,but,hey-the seats could've been taken out years ago!One for the locals to answer, methinks!.Bought a 'joe peeping-out-from-a-gibson tee,20 quid and a fully signed upcoming tour poster,a steal at a tenner!Loved Happier Times,Bogies' drumming throughout was STUNNING,joe eteasing the audience, great tunes and .....well,i could go on but others have said it more eloquently than i.Roll on December!!!!

The tickets for sale are all standing! smile

Re: .Glasgow , Scotland The 02 Academy 27/04/09

big_smile I saw Joe for the first time at the Glasgow gig. This man seems to have taken every beautiful noise made on a guitar and made it his own. If you are a guitarist and you make one good sound and commit it to tape, Joe will find it out, you cant hide from Joe. A musical magpie of a man. He comes on stage in a suit with his tie missing, like he just got home from work and was going to be late for the gig so just went anyway. I know NOTHING about him really and am glad I have encountered his music. Very uplifting and inspiring. God Bless Joe Bonamassa. See you in Edinburgh Joe!  xxx

Re: .Glasgow , Scotland The 02 Academy 27/04/09

I too had the honour of seeing Joe live on Monday night.......went with my Dad who has over the years seen some house hold names....but even he was amazed at just how good Joe is.

You could use many words to describe how good Joe is.......but I'd say to anyone, just go buy his CD's......and if you get a chance to see him live......take it, you would need to be deaf to not appreciate his work.

Very emotional, his playing draws you in and just makes you feel great.

Just reading this..listening to Planet Rock and Mountain Time has just come on..I don't care if it is kicking on midnight..pump it up...memories of Glasgow..and a wee tear in the eye. Edinburgh in December..can't wait!!!!

Here is the review that was in today's Sunday Mail here in Scotland:

"His name won't strike a chord with most, but New York guitarist Joe Bonamassa's cult following ensured a packed venue. Bonamassa's heroes are Jimmy Paige, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix...but some of his solos bordered on parody. Yet his skill is incomparable and his voice was rich and bluesy, particularly without a mic for the closing Asking Around For You.

The part I have highlighted I believe is complete and utter rubbish, I mean what concert was he watching cos it definately dosen't sound like the same one that gave me goose bumps from beginning to end.

Re: .Glasgow , Scotland The 02 Academy 27/04/09

got my tickets for Auld Reekie (excuse the spelling!) and looking into hotels, any of the majors nearby? Holiday inn,Jurys, etc?

Come on you Blades!

Re: .Glasgow , Scotland The 02 Academy 27/04/09

Hi idolbone,

There is a Premier Inn about 10-15mins walk away from the venue.

The address is Premier Inn, 82 Lauriston Place, EH3 9DG

Hope this helps

Do you think the reviewer has ever even listened to Joe before??

Probs not.

I dont really mind if people didnt like the concert  but coming out with stupid comments like "Bonamassa's heroes are Jimmy Paige, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix...but some of his solos bordered on parody" Now that annoys me! mad
