Topic: Aerosmith-Toys in the Attic Show

Yesterday ZZ Top opened for Aerosmith on their Toys in the Attic tour @ Post Gazzette Pavillion(star lake)
in Pittsburgh. For some strange reason ZZ Top did not play an encore song or two but they still cranked out
all of their older hits...Reverend Billy still has those bone chilling licks & I loved that gold custom made sparkle single pickup guitar he was playing.(could not make out who made it though)
.
Now the real reason I went  was to witness the Toys in the Attic set....Tyler & Perry
ran around and performed like they were in their 20's....unlike most older bands (Stones/ZZ Top etc) .
Even though Brad Whitford was not there( his guitar tech filled in for him until he comes back) the dual
riffs with Joe Perry were incredible!
.
So if any of you grew up partying in the 70's to Toys in the Attic go out & see them-you won't regret it..:)

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Thanks for the report Don. smile Aerosmith were one of my first bands and I do agree, they still sound pretty good now. I always loved that groove they had to their music, which marked them above their contemporaries (Kiss, VH etc). It would be fun to hear the whole Toys album smile What was wrong with Brad?
With ZZ Top as support that would be a great show smile

Years ago I saw Aerosmith open for ZZ Top at the Forum in LA. Toys in the Attic had just been released. Awesome show.
Still in my top ten .

Brad supposedly hit his head really hard from getting out from one of his cars...He's supposed to come back soon per Joe Perry's statement on stage that night....(In the meantime he's guitar tech is filling in for him & he did a great job)

Re: Aerosmith-Toys in the Attic Show

Well, I just got home after driving an hour and a half one way to go see this show with ZZ Top opening only to find out that it had been "postponed due to an artist injury"....what a pain the a**!!!  Fortunately, I was able to figure out that a local band that I wanted to see was playing in the same general area so it wasn't a total waste....but that really sucked.

I'm wondering if it's still Brad and they decided not to go forward with the tech or whether it's something else.  Anyone know anything?  Official band website doesn't say anything else other than that.

Looked this up in Google news - supposedly Steven Tyler is having problems from an "unspecified injury" - I don't think he owns a Ferrarri!  Brad Whitford is still out - he owns several Ferrarri's and they don't always love him back.  Says the shows will be re-scheduled, but no dates as of yet.  These guys have a lot of miles on them - amazing sometimes that they are still performing.

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.
