Only joking of course. Horses for courses. The TT has just finished in the Isle of Man. If you guys have never seen it, look up some videos. There's plenty about. If you don't wet yourselves in awe I'll be very surprised!
Here's something to whet your whistle -

oh by the way it's a six lap race - each lap is 37.7 miles!!!!!! Through villages and over a mountain! And the trophy for the main race (The Senior) has to be the most beautiful trophy in the world!
Havent been home when TT week has been on for a few years now, was there last year for the run up, but not with all the bikes there. Apparently this year the Entertainment was really ropey, no Prom entertainment at all, in years gone by they would shut a mile of the promenade and have a street party all week, those days were an awesome time to go out, check out the guys with naked chicks on the bikes doing burnouts and wheelie outside the famous Bushys Tent. A display from the Purple Helmets(really their name hehehe, search em out, very funny, bunch of clowns basically, parodying stunt shows, so bad its good, they are a bit of an institution in TT Week.
As far as the racing goes, this year was awesome by all accounts, the only big let down I think was Guy Martin being ruled out, and still not getting his first win, he is definately the man best equipped to challenge(along with Cam Donald) John McGuiness's reign on the Island(he just passed Mike Hailwoods wins mark this year at 15, only Joey left to get past. As far as I can remember both Carl Fogarty and Steve Hislop stopped racing TT before they got near to Joey/Hailwood.
Here is a lap with commentary from Guy Martin, average speed of around 130 mph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb3cbxJ9 … re=related
So this year Valetino Rossi amde an appearance with Giacomo Agostini and they did a parade lap. His quote to McGuiness was somrthing like "you have major balls, you are a gladiator to ride like you do round here"
Onto my biking experience. Only bike worth mentioning was the Race Replica Aprillia RS125rs I had. You may scoff at the low cc rating but this bike absolutely flew, you could get 125-130 with the power valve in it, and nothing better round the corners. Came to a sticky end though, got a job promotion, and had major adrenaline pumping, overcooked a tricky s bend over a humpback bridge, wheels both clipped curb at same time and bike flipped up and threw me off. Damaged my wrist pretty spectaculary but lucky to get away with that in the busy traffic. Ironically was in TT week when I did it, very surreal in a hospital ward, FULL of bikers. It is no picnic, people die every year without fail, it is rightly tipped as the most dangerous race in the world, it is the ultimate racing experience!!!
Here is a youtube of David Jeffries(RIP). He was probably the quickest guy to ride round here, and was rapidily on his way to being the all time leader for wins when his bike seized in practice and he unfortunately died resulting from the crash. This is on Mad Sunday where they make the mountain section one way, and if you dont know, once you leave a speed limit zone, there is NO SPEED LIMIT on the roads in the isle of man, so the biker fans get to go out and have a go themselves in one way conditions. Here is the master David Jeffries going round on that day with the spectators. I have driven round one year, and every bike is going very fast, just to make you understand actually how fast Jeffries is going, as it looks like everyone else is out for a Sunday Drive!

I have so many cool memories from the TT, I was an avid fan, and went and hung around the pit areas a lot, befriending kids of riders, so I could get in and droool over the bikes
