Topic: HIWATT Lead 100R

Hello fellow gear heads-

My brother and I just picked up a used HIWATT Lead 100 R from Guitar Center for a little over $600. This was a complete impulse buy, but I think that we got a pretty good deal on it. It was re-tubed so all that is band new. The salesman kept mentioning how great of a deal we were getting (thats their job right?). As this was an impulse buy, neither of us know a great deal about it. I read that it was similar to an old JCM 800 but with that hiwatt flavor. If anyone has any experience please feel free to comment. I plan to blend this together with my Fender Deville 2x12.

Thanks,
Logan

Re: HIWATT Lead 100R

Hi
My only experience with a HIWATT  was the other guitarist in a band I was in had one, a 100w custom it was a very clean and brite sounding amp with lots of headroom but to get it to breakup it had to be way loud. but in its defence it took pedals very well and had a good clean sound, I think David Gilmour has used these alot so enough said!!
