A quick heads up on Joanne Shaw Taylor's US daes which start next week.

Joanne was recently named Eva's "blues rock heroine" so if you are near by get out and see her smile

I've still not seen Joanne myself, but she is  playing a festival near my parent's house in late August. Sound like just the kind of festival for RICJunkie to attend, as it's set at the Bladnoch Whisky Distillery.

I would strongly advise any of our USA buddy's to get to a Joanne show o nthe dates above
That includes Roy Bill S Patty Gary and anyone within driving distance, she is without doubt one of the new leading blues artists here in the UK , and by Eva's Tripsy's & Martin's and all other reports a rockin blues blistering show is guarenteed , check her out and have a fun evening and report back how she was recieved there

The last date listed is actually in Duluth, Minnesota - the festival we have attended the last 6 years and this year as well - so we will definitely see her there!

Guys - Duncan's right - If you are able to get to one of Jo's gigs, it's well worth a shot.
She's one of the brightest blues prospects in the UK at the moment.

A few weeks ago JST did a session on Paul Jones' radio show. I hadn't heard her before but it was definitely a case of "Whoa - WTF" big_smile She's definitely got the blues rock in her and I can't wait to see her live myself. I spent quite a while last night trying to find a link to these sessions on the radio 2 website to no avail. sad

Checking Joanne's tour stops, it will be too far away from my home to attend, but I have alerted my cousins in Des Moines and they plan to attend her show on the waterfront there.

I wasn't able to see Joanne on her recent stops in Iowa, but I just got White Sugar from Amazon and all I can say is wow!  Great voice and great guitar chops, too.  This is definitely one to watch!

Don´t you think, George, that those kids are so rebellious nowadays......which brings us back to JST. I saw her with the Blues Caravan: Olli was the young charming hero, Erja Lyytinen a kind of bluesrock Kylie Minogue and JST was definitely the Rock´n´Roll kid.

I'm hoping to go and see Jack Bruce with Robin Trower on 5th August and just noticed from JST's MySpace page (thanks Icon for pointing me there) that she is the support act.

That's made me want to go even more. Don't know whether to get a ticket and risk having to give it up (it's not definite I'll be able to go) or wait and see and risk the gig selling out.
