Topic: Fuzz Face

Can someone point out a few songs where Joe uses his fuzz face?

Dazed and Confused solo

Of course, I have 7 of Joe's albums and Dazed & Confused is not on any of them.  There have to be some more where Joe uses a Fuzz.  Anyone?

Re: Fuzz Face

John Henry intro I'd say.  I don't think he really uses it much.  I'd say he uses his 808 the most, and I have no idea what he uses the Pork Loin for.  IDK, but for some reason I'm also thinking he is using the Van Weelden more for solo's with the 808, rather then the Carol Ann, but I'm not 100% positive.  I thought I had it nailed on which amp he was using on what song and he had to go and change his set up lol.

That's a fuzz on the John Henry riff?

Re: Fuzz Face

Yea well you have to remember that it only goes through the Cat 5 only, therefor you are retaining the Jubilee sound, only making the Cat 5 fuzzed up.  He may not use it for that live, but I'm pretty sure its all over the studio cut.

Re: Fuzz Face

John Henry sounds a little too clean in the rhythm parts for the fuzzface but I agree that it's the Jubilee and Category 5 for the cut.  Ben is right about the Cat 5 only seeing the fuzzface, and the Jub runs alone.  So Joe is using a Pork Loin now?  I've seen those Way Huge pedals at GC and never thought much about them.  OH if anyone is shopping for a fuzz pedal....DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR AND PICK UP A FULLTONE CATALYST.  Oh....my...god.  Finally, the fuzzface of my dreams.  Yes it does EJ on single coil guitars without having to muck with the amps.  Led Zep, Clapton, Gibbons, Keef, Hendrix, Joe they are all there too in spades.  AND it plays soooo nice with others.  I will be making a demo of it shortly.  I think I like this one better than all of my other pedals so far!!

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Yea, but I think he tracked it with the Stonetree Bari (lipstick p/u's) and then got the MM later and did the solo/dub work on the MM, so to fatten up the riff I'm thinking fuzz on the Stonetree.  We'll need a ruling from the man himself now lol.
