Re: Michael Burks...

Michael Burks is a name never to be forgotten!! He gave me the chills as you an hear on the video George made.

He was the best new man I saw after the first Joeshow I saw. Just brilliant and a very nice man too.
Love the man, he is like a teddybear but man what can he play: hard, soft, soulful and that all with the same guitar the whole show.

In November he is coming to Holland and guess who will be there: I think the whole Schoeppingen audience!

Re: Michael Burks...

Michael Burks is playing at July 3th in Gaildorf Bluesfestival. It´s a little place between Stuttgart and Nürnberg. Other  artists in the line up: Matt Schofield, Coco Montoya(4.7.) and Bernard Allison(4.7.).
I might go for one day - even when I have to work on the next day. Andre and George, there are cheap flights from Amsterdam!!

Yes, definitively. I know him up to now only from playing on Ian Siegal´s "Meat and Potatoes".

Nürnberg isn't exactly around the corner, though! I fear that I'll have to be hoarding my pennies for the August adventure. If I try real hard, I can probably make it till November's Dutch shows. wink

Re: Michael Burks...

Günter, talk to me, I need to know....did Michael do 'it' for you or not? neutral

*Michael*, pin your ears back for this, mate! wink

Andre will remember this killer intro of Michael's opening number at Schoeppingen, because we exchanged a meaningful look after just a few notes. The sound quality isn't ideal, especially when he sings, but this clip gives you a good idea of the raw power of this band and of this man's fantastically beautiful 'tone'. He pushes my buttons big time, as the more perceptive readers may have noticed by now. big_smile

Re: Michael Burks...

Just got Iron Man (Fathers day present) and what a great album it is.

Reminds me a little of Robert Cray - but more like a 'full-fat' version

Another great artist discovered I've discovered on this board!

Hi George, I´m back from holidays in Bretagne, and finally got to see your video. It´s great!! I know the Iron Man CD, but Michael seems to be even better live - and it was an excellent song you´ve taped. I´m always astonished how good the sound can be taped by these little cameras.
Sorry that I can´t make it to Gaildorf next weekend but he´ll be in Germany again in autumn. I think we (Europeans) are getting spoilt by a lot of good music these days.
