Topic: Marshall 1960AV Cab WOW!

I picked up a really nice Marshall 1960AV cab - the one with Vintage 30's and I got to say I am blown away, best tone I have ever got from my Jubilee it kills the 1936 cab just levels it. Its also a stereo cab so I ran my 68 Bassmen with the Jubilee and was just floor how awsome a tone I got. I have a show saturday so the Cab will get its a full work out but I am going to have to explore the two head thing a little more. I can't believe I waited so long to get a 412!

Re: Marshall 1960AV Cab WOW!

Congrats to your new cab. I once had a 412 with V30 and really liked it.
For rock stuff the V30 is fantastic speaker. I personally found them a little weak
for clean to light crunch stuff. But great you can combine the bassman and Jub.
I once ran a Jub and a Bluesbreaker for a while. A killer team! You will be pleased.
Let us know your thoughts and how build your rig up. And if possible load up some vid clips. big_smile

Re: Marshall 1960AV Cab WOW!

The 1960AV is a great cab, I have played it for a long time, borrowing it form the other guitarist in a band I played in. Honestly, I am not a huge fan of the V30s, what appealed to me was the construction of the cab and how the sound developped. If I was going to buy one, I'd put Greenback 20s in it for sure.

Re: Marshall 1960AV Cab WOW!

I may experiment in the future with getting two Greenbacks in there or two G12H's I have a two other vintage 30's new in the box that maybe I will see if I can trade for localy. I will give you guys more details after the gig saturday.
