Yes, what a beauty!!! He played it last sunday in Hamburg too.
I will try one if I see it somewhere.

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

My next guitar is going to be a MusicMan.
I've said this for two years now, but I keep buying pedals, cables and amps. tongue

The necks are just superb, nice grunt in the stock pups (not sure if I'd replace them) and I think I'd go for the hard-tail - I might go for a trem if it was a nice stable one (never had good experience with them). Most certainly not a FR though!

Lovely guitar anyway!

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

Wow! What a stunning guitar. I love the red marble effect cool Looks like Joe has been doing some shopping whilst in Europe... a treat to himself after so much hard work and dedication? Nice one! big_smile

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

JB really digs Music Man guitars.  He used a John Petrucci baritone for rhythm on track TBOJH.   Sweet guitars.   I kicked myself when I missed out on a Van Halen MM 12 years ago.    Cest la vie!!!

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

Mark my words, a JB signature Music Man is in the works.  Joe loves signature gear and I've been seeing him with a LOT of MM's lately!  I think it's cool, MM makes a great guitar.  I played a Petrucci model the other day and it was a great sounding guitar.  I didn't fall in love with the neck right away but it sounded really good.  Very versitle guitar...

Maybe he can get a EVH sound for the next album.  I loved Eddies tone back when he put these guitars on the map!

JB does EVH?   Hmm?

Listening to Eddie always makes me smile.    MM owed him a lot back in those days.

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

Joe had a stronger EVH influence in his Strat days...A lot of his improve solos and especially during the intro for "Pain and Sorrow" were comprised off of various EVH style licks.  No tapping though, thank god!  Only Ed made it interesting instead of clinical sounding IMO.  It would be cool to hear Joe to cover a VH song instrumental of course (can't imagine Joe wanting to sing like Diamond Dave or Hagar tongue ).

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

Maybe he'd sing like that guy on VH III that was the singer of the old band Air Supply.  Everybody hated it, but I really kind of dug it.

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

Joe doing a VH cover would be brilliant, although it isn't as if he needs to show off his skills.    I have been wondering what little gems Joe would love to toss out from time to time during gigs?    I know there was a thread about covers we would like to hear him play.    But I'd like to know the covers which he still gets goose bumps playing, if there are any?!

Ah yeah Extreme that was the band! I really did dig the single on that Disc.  I think smack dab in the middle of just got paid today he should whip out Ice Cream Man and just cool us all off.  He'd be our regular stop... I know that sound a bit gay.

Was Extreme used to advertise ice cream?    I have no idea what you're talking about!!!

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

I reckon Musicman would welcome Joe with open arms. They have very good players on their roster including Steve Morse, John Petrucci, Albert Lee and Steve Lukather. I have a Musicman EVH and a Morse Y2D and they are like Maserati's...sleek, wonderful tone and beautifully finished. Hope Joe ends up with his own model.

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

I bought a John Petrucci Music Man back in 2007, and I love that guitar.  I am a very new convert to Joe.  I got an American Strat last September, and I've had a Les Paul since 1987.  I was paying the Strat pretty much exclusively, then I got into Joe, and thought I'd have to reacquaint myself with the Les Paul.  But then I started seeing hm with the Music Man guitars.  Last week, for the first time since I got the Strat, the Music Man made it out to a Blues Jam and a rehearsal.

If Joe gets a signature Music Man, I'll be all over it.  The thing about those guitars is, if you buy a signature model, you get the exact guitar that is made for the person it is named after...wood, hardware, electronics.  And, compared to a Gibson signature, they are affordable!

I'd have to play it, of course, and see how it felt.  But it would be so darn tempting!!

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

Joe should leverage Gibson into making more sig models or jump ship to MusicMan. I'd like a JB model of SOMETHING... and the Gigliotti's are just too expensive. The Gibsons are too rare... help me out!

Re: Joe adds Music Man 25th Anniversary to the arsenal?

cool Joe's tone kills EVH these days.  Eddie has lost his ears and has a horrible live sound now.

I agree an Ernie Ball would be awesome, and with the Family Reserve line could still be quite exclusive.  Not to mention they would produce enough for everybody interested to own one and still mainain extremely high quality.

Probably all comes down to the endorsement contract and how much Joe would make.  I'd buy one or two!
