Topic: Buddy Whitt, Aynsley, Oli, Siegal, JST, Gwyn Ashton, Yardbirds - £20!!

Forget those boring old blues festivals such as Colne and Maryport with the same old same old this year as this looks like the blues rock place to be is as follows:

Sat 21 Nov The Blues Assembly: Mick Taylor + Buddy Whittington + Aynsley Lister + Ian Siegal + Oli Brown + Gwyn Ashton + Joanne Shaw Taylor The Assembly Leamington Spa

A blues all dayer featuring some great names from modern blues

http://www.leamingtonassembly.com

£20 for tickets and starts from 15.00.

Some of these acts need little introduction:

Mick Taylor - former Rolling Stone and Bluesbreaker

Buddy Whittington - superb ex Bluesbreaker who's own tours and with Gary Moore have won a great deal of praise.

Aynsley Lister - British blues rocker, always great value for money

Ian Siegal - very authentic blues singer  - a compelling live act

Oli Brown - what's more to say? Very talented and our best hope

Gwyn Ashton - Rory style guitarist from Australia

Joanne Shaw Taylor - best blues rock debut of 2009 - so far

Some of Aynsley's forum are planning to attend this event, would be great to see some Bonamasses too, this could be the best night of the year (outside of a Joe concert) smile

Have to say I'm with Duncan on this one - probably the best line-up you'll see anywhere for twenty of our English pounds.

I'm already seeing that big grin on Duncan's face that was there all night at Dingwalls!

And its just a week before Joe starts his UK winter dates - what better to get us in the mood?

I foresee a gathering of the Bonamassa clan. big_smile  Well posted Duncan.

Leamington Spa is an easy place to get to for me. I'm going to seriously look into this.

Wow, what a lineup Duncan! Another trip? I've got to save a few pounds before I can come back. wink

I had the honour of jamming with Gwyn at his gig at the 12 bar in London last month and can say he is definitely worth seeing. smile

I'm not willing to say I'm not coming. I'm outraged that a working visa to the States costs something like 3000 pounds. So, if they don't get multiple booking, it's too costly to come across the pond. This is a killer line-up, lots of wonderful, young talent!!! I may be too old by the time they play near me. I wonder how much it costs for American bands to play in Europe? Grumble, Cathy

Hey Cathy, you and George are more than welcome if you want to come. Anyone else too will be more than welcome smile

There's some accomodation suggestions for anyone interested on this thread on Aynsley's forum (with thanks to Mbcl - Martin):

Wish I could be there as well to see that group - some of the best the U.K. has to offer.  I didn't realize the expense to come to our glorious shore to perform - that's bullsh%t!  And your right Ian about our Cheshire Cat friend - that grin will be pasted to his mug for days afterward.  Lol!

I'm seriously considering this one! What a fantastic line up. I was wondering what there would be to look forward to after the RAH was behind us and this is definitely one to look forward to. Especially if it means another Bonabuddy meet up.

I see, you have a Kate too! big_smile

Finances permitting, I'll try to get my Cate and myself to Blighty for this dynamite line-up.

kates are good smile You must try and make it. An all 'dayer' would be great. Fly into birmgham and we could pick you up and drop you back, as long as you do not mind sharing the back seat with two c/kates wink To make room for Duncan.

What a fantastic line-up. Thanks for highlighting, Duncan. I'm trying to persuade my Kate that a weekend in Warwickshire in November would be a great break before the festivities begin. big_smile

Greenose has the green light to go! So I'll see you there, will be nice to see as many of you as possible there.

No Joe at this one, but reading the threads about the Hot August Blues Festival, this can be our Cold November Blues Festival lol

Hey Duncan - Thats great news.
I notice Joe has no gig that night but starts his European dates 2 nights later. Do you think if Wooders made him a badge he might be persuaded to join us?? cool
