Topic: New guy with Marshall Jubilee 2555 saying Hi!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum.

Having read interviews with Joe I was quite excited to see that he uses a 2555, great amp!

I'm starting out as a luthier and need to find funds for training and tools and am saddened to say that the Jube has to go sad

I need to maximise the money i get for it and thought that you guys might know what to ask for it.

Sorry that this if my first post but you guys seemed like the ones to ask wink
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave welcome to the forum

pity you have to sell that jubilee , but if its in good condition you can probably
get about 1900 USD or more or less depending where you sell it I seen a 50w
2553 go for 1900 on ebay 2 weeks ago try this link it usually has as few jubes for
sale and you can see how much they go for    good luck

Re: New guy with Marshall Jubilee 2555 saying Hi!

Thanks!

I'm really sad to have to sell it, i bought it in 1993 at Uni when i was playing in bands but can't really justify holding onto it and the 70's 4x12, it's just too big to keep in the house now i'm not gigging or recording. I'm thinking i can sell it along with my silverface twin and get a small 'one box does it all' amp.

The hardest decision is whether to sell it now or keep it as an investment.

Thanks for the help
Dave

This is the wrong place for a "one box does it all" lol.  Just a warning.

Welcome to the forum too!

ROFL so so true.  Man if I had an original 2555 I'd keep that sucker but if you need the cash...I would say that EBAY or TGP emporium would get you the most hits and serious buyers.  Or here for that matter as many of the guys here have them or want one for the obvious reasons.  I've seen some 2555's go for rediculous prices but since Ceriatone released a PTP clone of it I think the prices have fallen slightly.  Depending on the condition I think a very clean 2555 with new tubes and servicing could easily go for over 2 grand.  I would not take anything less than that for sure.  As far as a small amp that you can reasonably crank and get some AMAZING Marshall tones out of check out the Fargen Mini Plex MK I or MKII.  It's not a "do it all" amp but it does what it advertises:  Marshall roar at low volumes.  It has the 60's (plexi), 70's (JMP MV), and 80's (JCM800/Jubilee) switches to change the era of tones.  Good luck and welcome to the forum!
