Thanks for the kind words Tri!

I know what you mean about needing more space, you can tell when im thinking about it because I leave a lot more room. But when I really get into it my first impulse is to play faster! I've got a lot more control over it these days I think, but it still breaks through!

Also I feel like im repeating myself a lot of the time, almost like im playing within a set of boundaries, struggling to push out of that at the moment!

All good fun though! You should link some more of your stuff Tri, i'd like to hear some! smile

the first song is an acoustic blues (J.L. Hooker style), the second one is an electric slow blues and the third one...explodes.. tongue
my brother helped me to record the bass, while a professional singer and keyboard player also collaborated.

It turned out rather differently than planned though.. all shall be revealed in a few weeks hopefully! Ooooooooooo the suspense!

Hey guys,

SOme great stuff you have got going on here. I am getting all brave now, and gonna post my cover of Voodoo Child. Really posting to see if there are any pointers you can give on my playing. Still building up my finger speed, so I dont play Jimi's solos, I take a base and then do my own thing, then I improv the lat solo in it. Sort of my first time of putting together something that I was quite proud of! Been playing on and off for the last 2 years, hard to find the time now though with FT job and two kiddie winkles running round the place smile

Id call my self an advanced beginner, if I am being generous, so please dont expect a Jimi-esque style performance, and there are a few areas in there where I miss some cues, but it still flows along well enough.

For this song i used a Gibson 335, a Marshall Guv'nor (the old one from the 80's), a Boss Overdrive OD1, and the amp was a Lead 800 (jcm 800) from the Guitar Rig.
