Hi and welcome the bonabuddy forum.
Stratpaulguy has said everything. Especially with the expensive thing...I can subline that.
The Marshallsound is the base and should really sound perfect to you
that basicly you wouldn't need second amp. Everythin else is bonus.
Joe said if he would play only his Carol-ann all night long then the people
would want their money back. lol
Means the basic sound has to be very good. And the Dumble stuff is the only
for the blending.

@Justin: I watched your clip again and it itches me to order a HRM....

This statement has been mis-quoted and thrown around on several forums saying Joe was ripping on CA etc etc . I highly doubt for one second Joe would rip the amp or me in any way, he just isn't like that. End of story. Also, if he didn't like them, they wouldn't be in one rig let alone all three.

Joe said nothing wrong, I know exactly what he meant. It's technically correct. Let me explain.....

The CA JB-100s that Joe use are set up as a mid-range amp in his rig. They are a two-channel amp and can be set however you want. Joe overdrives the clean channel and has the mid boost at 850Hz on all the time. Massive mid range !! It is being used as mid range amp to be blended with the Jubilee, which is set on the lead channel and fills the high and low end. With the settings he uses, it's not supposed to be run on it's own....THAT WAS THE POINT HE WAS MAKING !!! I designed and tested it to be used with a 2555 Jubilee.
That said the JB-100 is a very versatile amp and doesn't need to be set up like this, most folk using just one amp certainly wouldn't. If Joe was only using that amp all night he certainly wouldn't set it up like this either.  Get my point ?

I will end by saying these little digs, twists, misquotes and sarcastically placed smileys on forums by some folks do nothing but hurt someone who works very very hard to get the best products he can out there.

Great post on the amps there - very interesting stuff to read and I seem to always go away from here on a daily basis with new tips to improve my sound.

Fantastic. The best forum on the net! lol

Re: Please Help amp decision

That is some interesting info on the jubilees I have only
ever tried the 50watter and can confirm it does sound
good at realitively low levels. So the 100w only starts to sound good at high volume when the power amp is working hard?
So did JOE when he used two silver jubilees have one set
for high mids and the other as normal or were they both identical
on the eq I do know one was set with slightly more gain than the other.

Re: Please Help amp decision

i agree.  it's not about knocking an amp--understand how it is used.  each one of us would apply the amp in our own way.  i'd use the drive channel for what it is, & a drive pedal on the clean for another drive tone.  it's not easy running 4 amps let alone 2.  joe blends them as only he can.  if i were to play thru his rig, the tone would change.  i'm looking into a carol ann possibly--i'm listening to clips other than joe's.  it sounds very nice & may be the choice i should make.  i probably can't get his sig model due to only so many were made, but the other 100 watt model carol ann has would be fine.  if a certain piece of equipment doesn't work for me, it may work for the next guy & sound brilliant.  had a strat that sounded nice, but when a friend of mine played it, he sounded better.  he bought it from me.  it's all for creating good sounds.  i'll make amps feedback where others can't at the same settings.  these amp builders knock themselves out trying to nail the great tone--if we can't be happy with a brand--it's the users fault more than likely every time.  for the most part, i don't go with most marshall amps--never have played a jubilee though.  but the vintage modern has some tones i like.  the dumble inspired amps are more my type.  you pay more--but these guys back their stuff cool
