Topic: Photos from Kulturbolaget, Malmoe, Sweden - May 7, 2009

Here´s some photos from the Malmoe Show... I stood on an arms reach from Joe so some of the photos are quite good I think... AND if you check out you can also find a photo that I gave to Joe as a birthday gift... he seemed to like it!

First song... The Ballad of John Henry... seemed like he was just using the upper neck, the baryton neck...

Are you sure he wasn't using the regular guitar neck for the slide / theremin solo???!!! I would think he would be lugging extra weight for no reason otherwise... But oh yeah, thanks for the great pictures Sune! It looks pretty sweet.

Well, maybe he did... I was too excited to take note of that...  But if you look at the picture he is using the theremin right there and the upper neck... so... I don´t know. Maybe someone else can tell, Joe maybe? smile

And me and my son have talked about it... he didn´t use the slide throughout the whole concert... what we could see.

It's so off that we stood next to each other and never realized we were both forum members >.<

I believe you are right on both counts.  On your photo, Joe is pushing down on the headstock of the baritone section and he does that for the soloing WITH the theremin and he seems to me to have an off again-on again relationship with a slide during that part of the song''s "movement".  I'm pretty sure I've seen a glass slide at one point, so I think we have to keep our eyes on Joe at all times! tongue Really nice pictures worth the repeat viewing! wink

Actually, pondering things, I think Joe detunes on the fly usually (he does within the song at some points-solo I think too) and not sure he ever pushes down on the headstock, a risky venture if it was a Gibson! Maybe it's just on the strings on above the nut on the headstock...
Did you see that video clip of him in Denmark???  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYD70-DY … re=channel
He does use the slide on that one for sure, Sune.
