Hey you guys, I'm so glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Sounds like Oli, Fred and Simon played another blinder!
I've been listening to Open Road at work this evening and agree that the live experience does have more energy and excitement. Oli is very charismatic and his singing gets better and better.
Nice to hear that Oli and Graham were their usual charming selves too.
Icon, that rap song is called No Diggity which was done by a group called BLACKstreet. Here it is from the Scarborough gig

Wish I'd been there, can't wait for the next gig smile

Thanks for filling us in on the song title Tripsy. Not sure I'll be searching too hard to listen to the original though lol

You could have heard a pin drop when Oli asked the Robin crowd "Does anybody here like Gangsta Rap?" It was one of those Shooting Stars tumbleweed moments you know what I mean?
Didn't take folks long to get groovin' to Oli's version though. The vid is really good - looks a nice intimate venue there in sunny Scarborough.

Please be in no doubt that this is the REAL ME! Beware imposters........................

Yes it was a very nice venue, Ian. It's downstairs from the Cask Inn. All very clean and modern, good lighting too, although the ultra violet light made me stand out like a lighthouse in my white Oli t shirt!
When I was seated at the front I was only about 6 feet from the band and there was no raised platform....very up close and personal. I had to go and stand further back to take the vids.
There was a really great atmosphere and everyone had a memorable time including a little 10 year old girl called Poppy who was at her very first gig. Her mum had taken her along as she has just started playing electric guitar. Judging by the look on her face she was totally inspired by Oli, smile
Aynsley Lister is playing there in a few weeks time, just wish I could afford to go to that too but I'm saving my pennies for London smile

Sunny Scarborough was b****y freezing!

I don't know anyone here is planning to see Derek Trucks in Manchester or Sheffield, but the Oli Brown Band has been chose as the support act  smile

Re: Oli Brown Band

Hi Folks,
I have three bits of good news about Oli to tell you.

Did you all know that Oli and his dad Graham had a meeting with Joe before the Sheffield gig. A little bird tells me that Joe saw Oli on You Tube and wanted to meet him!

Joe commented on Twitter  'met with Oli Brown and his dad.. great kid.. real talent and should have a great career..'

Oli commented  'Had a great meeting with Joe Bonamassa. A real gent and such a nice guy. Went to the concert in Sheffield. Awesome !

This makes me very happy!

Something else that made me very happy was that Rob Bancroft (aka Robvarmint) picked Oli's album Open Road as a classic album...to be, on his Rock 'n' Blues Circus programme on 10radio last sunday.
He played four tracks from the album and is hoping to arrange an interview with Oli in the near future.

Just this morning I received my copy of Blues Matters and there was a very good review of Oli's gig at the Norwich Arts Centre. The article started with the words  'The Blues has got sexy' and went on to tell how the audience was full of screaming young girls! Went on to say 'This was a terrific show from start to finish; Oli's playing and singing know no boundaries and finished with  'If anyone can break the barriers to get younger audiences into the halls for Blues, Oli Brown is the man to do it!

Way to go Oli.....

I saw Oli's name on the guestlist for the Cocoon party. I'm hoping to score one of his CDs today or tomorrow so I can have him autograph it. I already have it loaded onto my IPod after downloading from the internet. You never know, he may even show tonight at Dingwalls!

Make sure your marker pen is a silver one if you are planning Oli to sign a few. Nothing else works on his black album cover!

You guys must be getting pretty excited by now. Just tomorrow to go!

Graham

It's us who should be thanking you.

Oli spent some time chatting away to my budding guitarist son Leo, who is just 17,  and he has encouraged him considerably. He has been waxing lyrically about Oli ever since.

Good to meet with you again.

Tom imagine how good it would be if Joe was to take Oli on tour of the USA as his support artist!?
I thought I'd just float that one in the air... smile

I just read that Oli is coming with the Blues Caravan once again to the Nürnberg region in the end of May. As I´ve missed him the first time, I´ll be there.

Yes I agree, with the right tour dates I think Oli and his band would be able to emulate the success that BDS had in the USA last year.

Gunter, the Blues Caravan dates would be good, but Oli and his band should be touring Germany later in the year, he's even better with them smile

Yes, that would be quite something to tour the States with Mr Bonamassa. We will keep our fingers crossed thatr Mr B thinks it would be a good idea too !

We are intending to be in the States next year, August probably.

In the mean time we have many gigs to do here in the UK and in Europe, we will get them on Oli's website as soon as we can.

Thank you, again for all these kind messages .

vanquish4 ??

Would you be Steve or Adrian from Vanquish guitars? The makers of that beautiful Oli Brown signature guitar? If so I want one smile
