Topic: Hey everyone

Hi guys. I have something to say and I hope you guys aren't mad.
I kinda lied about who I am. I'm actually 17 and "Mary" is just a nickname. I joined up here when I was 15 and I didn't want to reveal myself for safety purposes. And I was on chat with some of you and not everything I said was true...well, I'm a huge Joe fan...I didn't lie about that, but about where I "work" and where I go to school (I'm still in HS). I'm such a jerk for doing that.
Over the two years I've been here I've seen so many people post here that are my age or younger and the rest of you act like family to them. I realized that I'm worrying about nothing. I can't lie anymore.
If you're mad at me, I understand. I'm really sorry. If you want me to leave, I'll stop posting, but then again I don't post that often because of schoolwork...:P

Oh, and today I took an AP exam and I randomly wrote, in the middle of my essay, "LISTEN TO JOE BONAMASSA" and crossed it out (things that are crossed out don't count for the grade). So I hope whoever grades my essay joins up here. And all of you who are taking AP exams here...I encourage you to do the same. It won't jeopardize your grade. tongue

Re: Hey everyone

We all make mistakes and have our little secrets sometimes.

Lying isn't good of course but;

ADMITTING  IT is more difficult but when you can do that: You're grown up!!

Thanks for being so honest and of course YOU STAY VERY WELCOME!!!!

Re: Hey everyone

Hey don't worry about it, you are always welcome here, it's the younger fans like you that are the future support for Joe so stick around and don't worry about it! smile

Re: Hey everyone

Hey Mary,
Don't be too hard on yourself. It's always a good idea to play safe on the internet.
By the way Mary, what is an AP exam?.....Does it stand for anonymous posting lol

Good luck with your exams, don't be afraid to pop in often.

Re: Hey everyone

Mary,

It doesn't matter to me if you're 5 or 95, what counts is that you have a heart of gold and that your posting here has always been great. Hey, us old folks need some young blood here to keep us feeling young too. After all, you're our fountain of youth along with that Joe fellow! wink

I, for one, am glad you're here!! smile

Joe is the Best!

Re: Hey everyone

There is a big difference between lying maliciously and protecting yourself. You sound like a smart girl. It is a good thing to be warry on the net. Glad you feel safe here but always keep your gaurd up. Keep posting and spread the word to your friends. We need to young this place down a bit more. Joe is going to outlive us oldsters.

Re: Hey everyone

Well said Jim.

It was very nice meeting you in the Cocoon!

Re: Hey everyone

It's funny you mention JB in your paper! Keep in mind there is room for blues in education! Part of my Master's Degree thesis was about Joe. I put together a website. My report can be read on my contact page. I do, however, need to update Joe's age now. wink

You know, if you haven't drawn any conclusions yet for college, you might want to consider majoring in history with an emphasis on blues music. Blues experts are a dying breed, and American pop-culture are some of the most fun college courses I ever took. It's good for trivia games and Jeopardy too! Just a thought. You could end up being one of the authorities commenting on things in PBS documentaries, or even VH1... lol

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: Hey everyone

Damn, I finished my history degree dissertation a month ago, wish I'd done the history of the blues (if I was allowed) instead of Russian history - would have been much, much more interesting!!
