Topic: Lonesome Road Blues - what's the tuning?

Any ideas on the tuning for lonesome road blues? If i have that then i can try and get a tab together. thanks

Re: Lonesome Road Blues - what's the tuning?

I think it is in standard tuning, but with a capo on 3rd fret. In the key of C.

Joe played it on Jools Holland show, which you can watch here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXyQ6mhdN9c

Hope this helps smile,
Matt

I think its the 2nd fret on the record. Though 3rd fret live.
Im fairly sure it was the 3rd fret when I seen him at glasgow, but played in B on the record.

Happier Times has the capo on the 3rd fret. Don't think anything else on the record needs a capo.

Its in B on the record and in C live. I saw Joe in sheffield a few days ago and am 99% certain that the capo was on the 3rd fret. I tried to play along when i got home with a capo on the 3rd fret but soon realised I was a tad sharp. Brought the capo to the second and job done.

It's definitely 3rd fret live. Learned this tune by ear using the Jools Holland recording.

Exactly my thought. Seen him in Glasgow, same thing. Went straight into Happier Times I'm sure.
I thought it sounded a little higher when I seen him play it on Jools. Thought that could be why his singing wasn't 100%.
But at glasgow he sang perfectly on it.
