Topic: Hello from Liverpool

Hi all, Paul here. I'm a big fan of Joe's and appreciate the effort he and his team have made in putting together things like this. He really does seem to be a very down to earth and top bloke. My own background is as a musician though not pro. I love Joe's touch and sense of melody and find him very inspiring when I'm looking for that blues lick. Like Joe I'm mainly a Les Paul player these days, but play left handed - just to annoy mates who say 'can I have a go' smile.

I thought I'd say hello as I've just snagged one of the few remaining tickets for the RAH show cool. There are still a few available on the RAH site.

As a 'newbie' I'm not sure of the etiquette with regards to any meet-ups and stuff, but if you can accommodate one more then I'd love to meet up with anyone. I'll most likely be traveling down on the Monday (possibly Sunday) and returning home next day.

Looking forward to the gig big_smile.

Re: Hello from Liverpool

Thanks Martin. I did read about some get-togethers but wasn't sure how open it was smile. I'm going to try and get down there on the Sunday if traveling on my own. My alternative is to go down on the Saturday with wife and kids and they return on Monday (school/nursery next day).  Currently looking at hotels - I think I prefer the traveling on own option as it's a lot cheaper smile. Is there anything going on after the RAH gig?

Re: Hello from Liverpool

Hi Paul, we're from Moreton on the Wirral. We'll be going down on the Sunday and heading for Dingwalls in the evening, bit of sight seeing on Monday then the Serpentine for the Forum meet prior to the gig. I've still got 4 very good tickets in the lower tier near to the stage. check out the Marketplace section. You might be able to entice some mates to come with you, but they'll probably need to book somehwere to stay.

Welcome to the forum, they're a great bunch of people from all over the place. quite friendly (most of the time) but can get grumpy if they haven't had a Joe fix for a while.

Hi Geoff

I've sorted out my travel and accommodation and will be in London from Friday night (with family) and they'll be going back Monday afternoon leaving me free for the gig etc.  I'll try and get to Dingwalls on Sunday. Need to check with the boss!

As for tickets. I've tried and tried to entice mates and fellow band members but they're either otherwise engaged or say 'Joe Who?'! I'm sure you'll manage to sell them on. See you and others sometime over the weekend cool.

Welcome to the forum Paul. My husband Simon was born in Liverpool and we lived on the Wirral until we moved to Yorkshire nearly 16 years ago.
Nice to have you on board ....see you in London

Thanks Tripsy. I'm traveling down in about 20 hours time (doing some pre-concert stuff) and can't wait for the gig. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Joe fans.

Just listening to the John Henry album at the moment and it just gets better and better. It's going to be a fantastic night.

Hi Paul

Welcome.
You'll see from my avatar we have similar tastes in guitars cool

Be good to share lefty stuff in London.
We can actually hold our beer and shake hands without having to swap the glass holding hand !! So that's what it's all about. It all falls into place now smile
